“A great attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

We just loved seeing the paragliders take off the cliffs and floating in the air. We even saw a dog and his master on the glider. He was loving it more than his owner!

“WoW!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

This was fun to watch on a couple different levels; the people were very laid back ( the instructor was giving instruction via speaker while lying in a hammock) and the color and drama of the cliff made it very different to watch.

“A Colorful and Scenic Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

This was a pleasant surprise. Watching the canopy gliders sail the winds is a very graceful relaxing peaceful thing to do. Their sails are vivid colors and they are scattered to the north and south of the Gliderport high above the beaches and just above the cliffs of La Jolla. The views are spectacular especially to the south toward the Scripps Institute of Oceanography Pier and La Jolla Cove. Occasionally a squadron of pelicans will do a fly by as well as man made aircraft. You can find a spot near the cliffs immediately to the north and south of the Gliderport and just enjoy the Pacific Ocean views, the winds that make the Gliderport possible and the aerobatic ballet of the of the gliders sailing up and down the coast. If you like you can even try a tandem glider trip with one of the pilots for a fee. There is food and drinks available as well as tables and chairs at which to consume them. There is plenty of free parking in semi developed parking areas. This place has a lot to offer and does not cost anything unless you wish to buy something. We will return there anytime we go back to San Diego. Very enjoyable.

“Fly away !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

I took a tour of la jolla yesterday and visited gliderport . It really is tempting to give gliding a try though watching others made me realise it might not be as easy to take off as it seems. People were struggling but once off the ground it surely must be an enjoyable experience .
The place has a small coffee shop serving beverages, nuts and sandwiches .

“Very cool place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We took a trip up the coast from San Diego and stopped in the Gliderport. It was a perfect day during the week and still there were over 14 gliders up at a time! It was a fantastic sight. We stayed and watched for 30 minutes or so. Next time we will be back and try the tandem glider.
