I can't say i did not like it but basically i would just recommend other restaurants other than Crab catcher. Nice location, clean restaurant but nothing special.

“Excellent food, modest value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

First: the service was awesome. We had no reservations, they first offered a table outdoor but it was cold so we were ready to go, but kindly accommodated us inside in a table that was reserved for 1 hour afterwards: yet, they never rushed us. Then the food: excellent, "nouvelle cuisine"-like, fresh and nicely presented. Then the wines: a stellar selection. The ambience: classy, with ocean view for the lucky customers near the windows. But finally the price: too much, even for the overall very nice experience.

“Nice view!”

Good food, but not the best seafood I have ever have. I guess if your in La Jolla you have to be expensive. The server was very nice. I think his name was Todd?

“January Sunday Brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

We stayed this past weekend in La Jolla on Prospect Street and were interested in having my birthday lunch/dinner at a seafood restaurant. I had previously read great reviews of the Crab Catcher. We walked in at a bit after 1pm without a reservation and were able to get a window table after waiting 15 minutes. We had a great view from our small table, had delicious entrees, and enjoyed great service. I believe they have a 10am-3pm brunch menu that includes complimentary champagne and croissants. We don't drink alcoholic products so I cannot comment on the champagne but the croissants, included in the bread basket, were wonderful. My wife wanted a Crab Louis salad but with a few alterations. They accommodated her requests and she was very happy. When served, the waiter relayed that the cook had liked her changes. All in all, we had a great meal, the food was great, our view of the ocean was unobstructed, and the service was timely and not instrusive. I suggest you give the Crab Catcher a try.

“Good but Prcey!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

We used to go to the Crab Catcher in La Jolla all the time but the last time the prices were raised alot and they were out of crab Stuffed Hallibet!
Most locations locally have closed and we know of only the La Jolla location left?
Way too expensive but you do get the cost if a first time customer in ambience!
