“Excellent lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

Visited Nosh with our family. The food was excellent for a casual walk - in lunch. We had carrot soup, crab salad, corn beef and other sandwiches. The Potatoe salad was great!! The portions were large and we should have ordered 1/2 sandwiches only!

“Not your great Jewish Deli”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

Having eaten a lot of food while on vacation in La Jolla this past weekend, we decided to try a Jewish deli for something light. The menu outside read like a great New York deli. Even though there was no one inside at 7PM on a Saturday night we decided to try it anyway. Big mistake. We should have known that when you have to walk up to the service bar to order and then take the order at the end of the bar it wouldn't be great. I asked if the corned beef and the pastrami was microwaved or steamed, I was told it's in the steamer always. So we ordered the corned beef on rye sandwich to split and the pastrami on rye. The sandwiches are HUGE like at Carnegie Deli or Katz Deli in New York, or Brent's in Tarzana, CA, but the quality is awful. The meat had no taste. I guess the briskets sat in the steamer all day and steamed all the flavor out. The rye bread was indeed fresh and the price was right, but I now understand why it was empty on a Saturday evening. Not very satisfying!

“Easter Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

We had to leave La Jolla early and did not want to wait for breakfast. So, we chose Nosh because there was NO ONE inside--too bad for everyone else because this was a great place for breakfast. Three of the people in our group ordered the eggs benedict--and they all agreed that this was the BEST Hollandaise sauce they had ever tasted! In addition, they serve Cafe Moto coffee--which we knew nothing about until we at here. The coffee was so delicious we traced down their distributor in San Diego so we could buy our own for home. Give this place a try! I wish I had time to try their lunch--the deli cases looked tempting.

“Bacon Pancakes!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2014

The bacon pancakes were yummy. Their bagels are very New York style too and sooo good. My husband had something good too but I cannot remember what?

“Deli-cious!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

Great variety of sandwiches- as one would expect from a Jewish Deli. Went there once for breakfast- and a few days later for lunch. Both were very good with portions offering a decent bang for the buck. Great variety of soft drinks in bottles/cans. Good service. Try the Matzo Ball soup. Very good.
