“Friendly staff, great locale, fresh food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

My husband and I walked from our hotel for a late afternoon snack and drink. Nice experience, good food. Only have beer and wine, so the only downfall is if you are looking for a cocktail. Would definitely return.

“Worth a stop but parking is a nuisance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

Cody's is at the top of the TripAdvisor list of restaurants in La Jolla. There's a reason. While there is inside seating, most opt for sitting outside where there is a direct line of sight to the water a couple hundred yards away. Service is good and the food excellent. Though it's as much for breakfast as I've ever paid. (comes with the territory when one is in La Jolla!) Orange juice is cold and good.

The cons include waiting for a table during busy times, convenient parking is non-existent (unless you're really lucky to find a spot that just opened up close by), and the high prices. If one lived there, you'd probably not go all that often. But if visiting the area, it's definitely worth making the effort at least once.

“Breakfast with a view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014 via mobile

Our family decided to have breakfast at Cody's...we must of visited at the right time for we had zero wait and we were seated promptly...the hostess could have been friendlier but I might be too demanding :) we had a nice table outside and had a partial view of the ocean...that was my favorite thing! I had the Cody burger and didn't like it although my daughter ate half of it and loved...my husband had the chilaquiles and really enjoyed them...my daughter also had the French toast and that was pretty yummy... The servings are big portions and for a table of four we paid around $80... A bit on the pricier side but we didn't mind because the overall experience was great! The location was perfect within walking distance to spectacular views of La Jolla....if we visit La Jolla again we will return and I'll try something other than the burger...also parking can be an issue but be patient you'll find something!

“Unique with excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

Cody's is an amazing breakfast experience. Unique, home-prepared-from-start-to-finish food. Nothing was standard supplied fare; in fact, nothing is standard about this place. Robust portions of delicious food. We ate outside early Saturday morning, and it was a great experience. Our only complaint was the somewhat inattentive wait staff. Had to repeatedly ask for water and coffee refills, and they weren't that busy. The waiter we had seemed to know Cody's is the best in town and he acted like it, but that did nothing to diminish our enjoyment of unusual and wonderful breakfast fare. Highly recommend.

“Amazing Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Food is great, as are the drinks, but the view of the beach makes this place perfect. Call in and they will set up a table for you. Sandwiches, waffles,
Omelets, and not too pricey.
