“Simply Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

What could be better than a sunny afternoon with a view of the ocean, on the patio at Cody's enjoying friends and family. We tried the ceviche and crab cakes.. both fresh and awesome.. Adam, the owner, knows his wine selection and was spot on with the Napa Valley Chardonnay recommendation. Our group enjoyed a BLT, Fish and Chips and the Mahi Mahi Taco's.. and the kiddie cheeseburger was also a hit. Don't skip desert... the sugar cookie ice-cream sandwich and the sticky toffee pudding are worth the "splurge". I recommend you find your way to Cody's for a fab meal and a staff that will go over the top to keep you happy. Definitely deserves the #1 Trip Advisor acclaim.

“A piece of heaven run by angels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

Just been to La Jolla for two days and I want to go back just so I can have breakfast at Cody's. The place has character, it's not part of some chain, it's run by people who just seem to enjoy what they are doing and they do it so well!

Food is great there; marvellous fresh fruit with yoghurt and granola, American breakfast, toast, wonderful orange juice, earl grey tea. Only thing missing for a Brit was marmite but I wouldn't hold that against them.

Best place to sit is outside taking in the view of the Pacific (or of Bison the restaurant mascot having a scratch.

This place has personality - go there before it gets too popular.

“Breakfast at Cody's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012

I forgot to write a review for Cody's after we were there last year at the *end of May.(*My review selection would only let me go back to Aug. of 2011) We stayed at the LaJolla Inn, which was right across the street. What could be better than delicious fresh food, delivered to you at your outside table surrounded by the beauty of LaJolla? Happy, patient servers added to our dining pleasure. Like most places in downtown LaJolla, it is a bit pricey, but very tasty! Looking forward to our next trip there, and we will be back for breakfast and / or lunch.
