Very rarely do I go to a restaurant on vacation without reading reviews. We stumbled upon a gem! My husband and I walked along Prospect and The Hake just seemed like a nice, relaxed restaurant. From the moment we stopped to look at the menu on the street, the customer service was so personable. It was Restaurant week, which gives you a choice of an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. I had octopus, which was deliciously flavored with olive oil, lemon, basil, and cilantro. It was very good. My entrée was braised short ribs with a creamy polenta. The wine sauce with the ribs tasted so good. I dipped it into my polenta and wow, the flavor really popped in your mouth. They saved the best for last...a phenomenal Cheesecake made with goat cheese, with a perfect crust with nuts and drizzled honey. All of this was only $35 each! Since we arrived around 4:30 they reduced their signature martinis and draft beer by $2. Both were good. My husband wasn't very hungry so he order the fish tacos. They did not disappoint. To top all of this off, our server was so personable and gave a high level of service. Every single person that worked there seemed so happy. Very nice dinner!
