“Beautiful Sunsets”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Spent a wonderful afternoon with Family. This area has something for everyone, from the sandy beach, the lawn area, the playground ,the wildlife. Just a simple stroll is a wonderful experience.
La jolly itself is a nice place to visit, wonderful real estate, restaurants. Galleries.
A place to visit if you are in the San Diego Area.

“Spectacular views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

La Jolla beach certainly is not overrated, considering all I had heard about it for years before I had a chance to visit. The views of the ocean are spectacular, with the birds, and other wildlife, including seals, a nice addition to the scenery. A little over-crowded at times, but all-in-all not to be missed on a trip to San Diego.

“Great for families and walkers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

This is a very nice beach and is also good for walking. Lots of families ( a playground and grassy area)and space to enjoy the ocean. Swimmers and boogie boarders stay to the left (south). There is a nice walk along the water's edge if you head north and when the tide is out you can actually trek pretty far past Scripps Pier. Back on the grass there are always lots of groups BBQing and having picnics.

“Never made it to Modern Art Museum - found something better...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

We drove from San Diego in order to visit the modern art museum, but never made it as we parked on the seafront and spent the next three hours watching the seals and the birds and the surf and surfers. For some reason, whenever seals appear they have a power to attract crowds and it seemed more pleasant to pass the time outdoors in the sun watching their antics and those of the pelicans and other big birds, rather than being indoors in the gallery.

For info, on-road parking in La Jolla is free but time-restricted, with different limits in different parts of town. Along the beachfront seems to have the longest time, allowing a three hour stay, and when we arrived around 10:00 on a weekday there were still spaces, but they filled soon afterwards. If you need to stay longer there are multi-storey parking lots in town
