Owner description: San Diego's most desirable spot for swimming, diving and snorkeling. The water is calm and the cove is ecologically protected. There is also a world famous dive site that is located in the La Jolla ecological preserve.

“La Jolla Cove- a must see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

If you're in San Diego, it's well worth the short drive up to La Jolla, first for the quaint style and small town feel of Prospect St. and it's pricey shops and galleries, and second, for "The Cove", it's breathtaking coastal view, the fresh ocean breezes and, of course, the free entertainment provided by the ever-present seals that populate the sheltered sea wall constructed back in the 1930's (I think).
You can also watch the hardy surfers catching some waves, or catch your own, if you're so inclined. (The water is quite chilly, though).
We took in a beautiful, romantic sunset that is hard to beat anywhere.

It was beautiful, just very overcast the day we went. Tons of shopping and restaurants. We had a great time!

“Worth to come”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

This our first time to visit in La Jolla Cove, San Diego. Very beautiful and great experience to see a lot of sea lions even in hot day and also beautiful park next to the ocean just for relax with the kids or BBQ perhaps. Out side or before stop to see the seals, there're street mall branded such as ....... The sea lions stay there as there new habitat as a volunteer lady explained to my wife.
Will come back with my kids later for sure........

“Snorkeling for everyone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

This is a fantastic spot to get in the water. Snorkel, ocean swim, wade among the waves. It is not a wave jumping experience, but rather a gentle push that makes for clear views to the bottom with your mask, snorkel and fins. Don't blame the sea lions for making this home... I would too.

“Perfect place to watch the Sunset”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

The cove is a little hard to find because you're going down a one lane road that looks like it's private but it was worth the searching. It was cloudy but the sun shining through the clouds as it set was beautiful.
