Our family rented this lovely vintage vacation rental Friday noon until Sunday noon. Worked out great for some of the bridal party to stay Friday overnight, wedding day preparations, bride and groom wedding night stay and family brunch the day after the wedding. The day before the wedding many of us had enjoyed walking along Cuvier Park and the rest of the La Jolla Coast Walk which is spectacularly beautiful and just steps from the cottage. Laura provided a huge and delicious breakfast the morning of the wedding as we all got makeup and hair done while enjoying the ocean views from the beautifully furnished sitting room, dining room and flower-laden patios. Bride and bridesmaids had a bedroom with large windows facing the ocean where they could enjoy the view while pressing and readying their ceremony clothes and doing other pre-ceremony preparations. Once everyone was ready we just stepped across the street to the ocean front Cuvier Park where photographs were taken. After the ceremony at the gorgeous Wedding Bowl just up the street, bride and groom stayed overnight in a lovely room with an ocean view patio. Bride and groom's immediate family joined them for breakfast the next morning for another amazing, delicious and satisfying breakfast. We could not have been more pleased with the convenience, beauty and comfort provided by Laura on this extremely special weekend at this very special place by the sea.

My wife and I rented this home for a week last labor day weekend.

While the location is great, there were way too many negatives for me to recommend

The first and biggest negative is the fact that the owner lives upstairs above the master bedroom with her two large dogs. It is very unsettling to hear people above you walking around in the early am in a house that you thought you rented by yourself -no sense of privacy

The second negative was the old bathrooms and small showers that must been at least 30 years old-again when you are paying such a high price for a home you expect a little better amenities

It was also odd that one day my wife and I left for a walk and came back and there were dishes in the sink that we didn't put there!

Laura is very nice, but you can do a lot better for the price

Our recent four-night stay at this beautiful property was delightful in every way. Literally steps away from the ocean, the cottage is an architectural gem, with gorgeous views of the coast and a colorful garden. Our room was large and comfortable, with a separate sitting room and outdoor deck. The biggest treat was our hostess, Laura, who couldn't have been more generous, gracious -- and interesting! Her two playful but well-behaved bearded collies brought added warmth and joy to our visit. We hope to return for a longer stay next time.

We stayed four nights with Laura in early Dec 2011. She is very accommodating and has two very friendly dogs which are her companions. We stayed in the large master bedroom w/attached reading room (Wi-Fi throughput). It has a delightful patio and a full view of the ocean and beach front green park across the street. If you open the window an inch, you can listen to the waves crash against the rocks and the shore. You can also see the spray from the largest waves as they pound the shoreline. The bed was large and comfortable. Laura makes a nice full breakfast each morning. She also offers wine w some hors d'oeuvres in the late afternoon. Laura spends a lot of time gardening around her B&B, so it looks like an English garden postcard on the outside. The B&B is in a great location to walk along the LaJolla coastline or walk 5 minutes in to town for shopping or dinner. A very enjoyable stay.
