“Sea Lions Galore”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

The Children's Pool area is so beautiful. Even though the name suggests it, there is no swimming allowed since this has become a natural preserve for the sea lions. Besides the sea lions, there are many different types of birds and you may even see a few dolphins too. This is a must see if you are in the area. Make sure you use the bathroom prior to getting there because there were only port-o-potties available.

“Fun to see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

This was a great place to view nature and wildlife of the area. Fun to watch the harbor seals and sea lions crawl around. Both the children's pool and sea lion viewing area were within walking distance of one another. Great walk and fun area to watch the sunset. Really busy on the weekend that we went parking was challenging but do able. Just watch for folks crossing the street.

“Can't miss spot when in La Jolla”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

If you in La Jolla, you have to stop by hear and enjoy the beauty and closeness of nature. Sure you can go to Sea World...but you aren't going to get closer to seals than at the Children's pool.

Walking out on the sea wall and having he waves crash is great both during the day with kids and family...or a great romantic spot at night for the adventurous

“No Longer a Pool for Children”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

It's been many years since I have been here. As a native San Diegan, I have fond memories of enjoying this beach with my now grown children. Now it's for the seals. Might be fun for tourists to see these animals, but the purpose of this unique beach is now defeated.

“Children's Pool in LaJolla”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

What started out as a children's protected ocean bay, just south of LaJolla, has become a seal rookery. Visitors come from all over the world for the close-up experience of watching the seals play and mate and nurse their young, as you stroll along a raised walkway that separates the sea from their pond. It's a wonderful place to take pictures.
