“Small but worth the visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2014

This is a great stop while visiting La Jolla. While the museum itself is not very large, the view and geographical situation is spectacular. It is located at the end of the "town" on Prospect Street and there is good parking available on the streets, though no parking lot at the museum itself. Several eating establishments are within easy walking distance, as well as other galleries and shops.
Admission is free the 3rd Thursday of the month during the evening hours.

“Good contemporary art”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

Nice museum, though somewhat limited in display space. However, the available display space was used well; nothing overcrowded, plenty of room to stand back and view the art. Lovely location; the outdoor art garden views the ocean.

“see the building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

enjoyed the travelling exhibit from Mexico City, but the building itself, and the gardens on the cliffside, make the visit a must.

“Great exhibits and wonderful place to take in a film”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

The Museum of Contemporary Art has a great location with wonderful restaurants and hotels nearby. The Museum has a very good facility for seeing films and depending on your taste in contemporary art... well that will depend on the current exhibit, but, often cutting edge as it should be. Given the location and the space and facilities make sure you drop by or go online and see what is going on here if you are planning a exhibit to the area.
