My husband and I stayed the week of 6/3-6/10 2012. We had stayed previously in the regular rooms in the main hotel. We decided to try to apartments this time. They are located about a block from the main hotel, and it includes outside parking in a small lot. We did not have any trouble finding a space there except when it came to the weekend. There was a festival going on that weekend, which probably accounted for not being able to find a space on Friday and Saturday nights. We parked in the garage those nights. There is also a parking garage under the main building if you prefer that. The parking garage has a sign with your name on a space that is reserved for you the entire stay, and that is wonderful to have. The outside parking at the apartments does not, but it is closer to park than the garage if you are staying the apartments. We stayed in the corporate apartment, which is the largest of the apartments, and the most expensive. We fell in love with this one. We looked at the other apartments as well. They were nice, but of course smaller. The corporate apartment is very large, about the size of a 1 bedroom spacious condo. We loved the large living area and the place has a full-sized kitchen with all major appliances, including a full-sized fridge, which is great for storing favorite items for the week. There is a dining area directly off of the kitchen with a table that seats 6. There are also bar stools around the countertop. There is a partial water view from an over-sized window from the living room area. The apartment has a balcony that wraps around two sides of the living room, and it is accessible from both the living room and bedroom. There is patio furniture and a table w/ an umbrella, as well as a gas grill. The bedroom is very nice and the bathroom is huge, equipped with a double sink, soaking tub, and the shower offers a hand-held shower in addition to the regular shower head. There is an over-sized walk-in closet that is accessible from both the outside hallway as well as the bathroom. The closet offers plenty of drawers for storage, if desired. It is also equipped with a safe. There is also another sitting area that is located in the front of the apartment immediately upon entering. The apartment has 3 large flat-screen TVs. The furnishings are appealing and modern. We loved the fact that the apartments are secure, and no one can enter from the outside streets unless they have a room key, which is used to open the doors from the street. There are sky lights all over the apartment, which gives a wonderful lightness (none in the bedroom of course). The apartments are next to many shops and restaurants, and all are within walking distance over a 3 block area. The apartment was very quiet and we did not have a problem with street noise at all, and we could not hear any noise from the other apartments. The climate control was easy to operate and worked well. As with all hotels, there were a few annoyances, but these were easily overlooked since everything else was so nice. I will list them here, but I would not let this stop anyone from staying in the corporate apartment: 1) The hot water in the bathroom sinks took a full 5 minutes to warm up everyday, early morning and nighttime. The shower took much less time. 2) The corporate apartment is located in a dark alcove. There is plenty of sun that comes through a sky light nearby in daytime, but at night, there is no light in the alcove that comes on automatically when it is dark. After a couple days, we inquired about it and found out from the staff that there is an automatic sensor in the alcove behind a door, but you have to wave your hand over the sensor in order for it to come on. So we did that each night and then had light in order to get in the door. 3) We found the bed too firm, but we dealt with it and luckily neither of us had any aches and pains from sleeping on it. I have back problems and usually a mattress that is too firm will cause me pain upon waking, but this one did not so we were ok with it. 4) I did not like the pillows but I asked the staff if they had a softer one, which they did, so that worked fine. 5) The crushed ice feature on the fridge did not work, so we bought a bag of ice from a nearby grocery store and kept it in the freezer. The cubed ice feature worked fine. 6) The sectional sofa in the living room was not comfortable for us, there were lots of pillows to lean against, but we do not like those types. We like sofas with regular back cushions. However, we only used them for an hour or so in the late evening, so it wasn't much of a problem since we weren't in the room that much..and if that type of sofa works for you, you won't have a problem. Again I would not let any of these things deter you from staying in this beautiful corporate apartment. The pros outweigh any cons, at least for us. I only mentioned them so that it would be helpful to others and give them info they might not otherwise have. The staff was very helpful and anything we needed was delivered to us within 2 minutes, and we were a block away. I would recommend this property to anyone. The hotel has spa services available, but we did not partake of any of the services.
