Stayed here for a college hunting trip. Could not have been happier. My husband and 2 teens booked a double partial ocean view suite - room was large, airy, nice beds, big windows with plantation shutters overlooking a slice of ocean and the village. Bathroom had all amenities, older-type showerhead. Only downside to this room was a)closet is in bathroom (but room was very spacious so no need for closet) and b) noise from village at night - there is a bar somewhere across the street where there is live music outside on a deck, so you need to keep the windows shut at night, whereas it might have been nice to have the ocean breezes. Service was very good - our big sceen tv's color adjustor was not working and it was fixed immediately. (Final Four games not interrupted!) I had forgotten my laptop and paperwork in a bag in my car - the valet ran to get it immediately. There is currently some construction on one of the restaurants with a patio in the hotel, but we heard nothing. It was apparent, however, from a long breakfast wait that the kitchen had been affected by the construction. There were many servers, but the food coming out was slow. We had been informed of this up front, however, and were willing to wait and gaze out over the ocean. The pool and jacuzzi are wonderful. The village itself was a little quirky - lots of art galleries and tee shirt shops, but sprinkled in are a few nice boutiques. Starbucks a few doors down, along with hagen dazs. The beach is about 1/2 a block down. Overall a very nice stay in a historic hotel. If you can't take quirkiness, don't stay here, but if you appreciate it, it's a lovely spot. BTW, we paid $249 special for our room, which was truly a bargain.
