I think this restaurant would be great if you were going to see a performance at the La Jolla Playhouse, other than that, the location is kind of awkward. It was very slow on the Saturday I went (there was no performance that evening). The menu was put together well, with alot of great idea, but the execution was not there. The wine list was superb and would be easy for anyone to find the perfect wine for their meal. The big eye tuna tartar appetizer was perfect, but a smaller portion than an appetizer normally would be. We had 4 people, and the waitress said that the appetizer normally comes for up to 3, but they could stretch it to four..I would order two if you have this many people. I had the Cantonese Duck...it was well executed, a tad dry..but crispy and otherwise well done. Two others at my table had the lobster...very poor execution. It is quite hard to mess up Maine Lobster, but they did it. It was overcook, tough and not worth ordering. The side fo eggplant was generic, the desert was well done, but not the best. I think the best part of my meal was the wine.
