“Beautiful location and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Stayed for one night at the Requa Inn and wished we could have stayed longer! Our room was lovely with a view of the lake opposite. Had original wallpaper from the 1920's also which we loved. We had dinner at the inn and were served a 7 course delicious meal with the chef explaining each of the dishes to us. Breakfast is included inthe price and was outstanding. Although the young waitress got our order wrong but was apologetic.

The 'Iiving room, lobby' area of the Inn has plenty of sofas and chairs to rest in with a view of the lake. And there is also a hot tub which you can use for free and book a private session. Location is brilliant, a short drive away from the Avenue of the Giants.

Would go back in a heartbeat.

We have been here twice and it has been special every time. It is the only place I would stay in the redwoods. The location is unbeatable- you can walk up the road to the Klamath River Outlook and see the sunrise and take a hike to Hidden Beach. Great access to tons to see in the Redwoods. The hotel itself is great. Every room seems really warm and inviting (they let you peak in when guests aren't there). We have always used the hot tub which is nice on a cool redwood night. The breakfast is also exceptionally good and they cater to food allergies. We can't wait to go back for a third time!

A quaint little Inn located close to Redwood National Park that includes a great breakfast and offers dinners that are worth singing up for. It has 22 rooms and was built in 1922. We visited in 2011 and will be back this fall.

Room Tip: Check it our on their website.

We stayed here last May in a room facing the river (and road). The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The owners and staff are friendly people. All the issues that can be complained about in an older wooden building such as thin walls, road noise, are clearly noted in the Inn's website. In the late spring we had zero problems: the other guests were quiet, there was little traffic, the lounge and its scenic view windows on the Klamath River were terrific. Best of all we had dueling chefs competing to make fine food with local and foraged resources. Oh yes, the restaurant made scrumptious, completely free choice breakfasts to order. Would we come back again? You bet. We're planning on it the next time we visit the North Coast and Redwoods.

Room Tip: Facing the river was visually great: be attentive to hunting season when the road in front of the I...

We had a wonderful two-night stay here on our drive up the coast. The Inn is in a picturesque location overlooking the river, and makes a great base for exploring the Redwoods. Jan and her family gave us a warm welcome, adding to the cosy, relaxed feel of this historic inn. Their multi-course dinner was a real treat; with introductions to each course by the passionate chefs who source local produce and a chance to get to know our fellow diners.

I stayed at the Requa Inn in February of 2012 for three nights. The management at the Inn was so friendly and helpful informing me about the local places to visit. The Inn was clean and neat and beautifully designed with rest and relaxation in mind. I spent a good deal of time watching wildlife on the river from the rocking chair on the front porch and reading a historical book in a large size chair in the main living room next to the fireplace. The breakfast was delicious with many options to choose from. One of the nights i had the family style dinner and although it was a bit pricey it sure was worth it. I will be staying there again next year but for five nights cause there is so much to do in the area. I recommend the Requa Inn highly.

Room Tip: The larger rooms overlook the river and are beautiful. The rooms at the back of the Inn overlook par...

We spent three relaxing days at the Requa Inn during October. It is right in the heart of the Redwood National and State Parks so we enjoyed hiking in the forest, where we felt as if we were the only people there. We came across a large herd of elk in a meadow on Davis Road - be sure to check it out as we understand it is a common place for them to roam. A short walk up the road from the inn took us to a bluff from which we could see whales and seals or sea lions below. On the third day it was rainy so we thoroughly enjoyed just relaxing in our room napping and reading. The dinner offered by the inn is a wonderful way to meet fellow travelers and the food was amazing! Contrary to some reviews, we felt there was plenty to eat. We even had food left over. If they are offering the lemon poppyseed pancakes for breakfast, be sure to try them - yummy!

Room Tip: Rooms 10 and 20 are the largest and have the best bathrooms. They also have lovely sitting areas th...
