At the end of a long day of driving I decided to stop for the night and, for no particular reason, exited Hwy 99 at a Kingsburg. The only motel in sight was the Motel 6---not my customary first choice. Boy, was I surprised! BIG room, two queen beds, flat-screen HD tv, free in-room wi-fi, refrigerator, and microwave. The dressing area was expansive, as was the bathroom, and the entire room was spotlessly clean. Who'd a-thunk it? Sure, the amenities were otherwise as expected, but the pool area was likewise well-maintained, and twice while I was there I watched the owner-manager, a gentleman named Harry Patel, patrol the grounds looking for papers, empty bags, etc., which contributed to the overall positive experience. Not fancy, but well worth the decision.
