After reading TA reviews, my partner and I set out for Tamu. The menu at Tamu seemed boring and the prices were high- so we found ourselves at the Secret Garden- just a few restaurants down the road.
Their menu is exciting and after a year in Asia- we were thrilled to see such variation in options. Our meal was so great last night, that we went back again tonight. Last night for an appetizer we got our choice of either French bread or home-made tortilla chips (chose the chips which were great) and our choice of 3 of the 6 dip options- we chose the hummus, spicy roasted red pepper, and basil & artichoke dip. They were all incredibly tasty and a great value with the amount of chips and dip provided. Last night I ordered the seafood chowder. I had worried at the time that I made the wrong call because there are so many great options but the chowder was fantastic and paired very well with the house white wine. I could have easily ordered the same exact meal tonight but instead ventured out and got the shrimp pasta in white sauce with garlic bread. It was perfectly done --- so I'm already thinking the menu over for tomorrow night. My boyfriend also loved his meals- the chili con carne with rice and tonight had a delicious hamburger served with perfect wedges.
This is a great restaurant and we are feeling so lucky to have it close by. You won't regret visiting- the menu is so varied, good value and amazingly tasty!
