“Very private and pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

Booked 2 nights, ended up staying 4. Love the location, very quiet because set back from the road but only a 2 minute walk to beach, shops and restaurants.
Really nice pool, rooms large and nice, beds comfy. Good wifi most of the time. Not expensive.
Ordering breakfast and having it sent in means it arrives cold so best not to order bacon and eggs.
Would stay here again, mostly for peace and quiet away from the bustle. Feels very safe.
A few niggling annoyances like difficult to use door key and rooms not serviced until late in the day, no room service because no restaurant on site. Hot water can be iffy but not too much of a problem.

Room Tip: Double rooms are nicer than twin ones. Can book at reception $50 a night.

We spent 7 days here and found the prior desciptions and reviews pretty close to the mark. The power was a problem throughout the stay , but that was rectified by way of a generator. The staff were very friendly and helpful , they always had a smile on their faces and made you feel welcome.I would definately choose to stay here again

Spent three days at hotel with family. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful but little English. Rooms were small however clean and modern. Enjoyed the pool however no towels close by and no shade sail so easy to burn if no sunscreen. No hot water in room however due to extremely hot weather did not matter to much. Don't bother with complimentary breakfast. I took on mouthful and decided to ditch the rest. Worst breakfast i have ever had. Took family to nearby restaurant for breakfast. Good location lots of restaurants and close to beach. Sixty dollars a night not bad value. Wifi was terrible kept dropping out and only worked maybe 20 % of time.

Nice little hotel, close to restaurants & bars, but not so close to the beach, although the only beach you really want to be visiting is Otres which is a tuk-tuk ride away anyway.

Only 14 villas in total, making it a quiet place to relax, up a driveway away from the noise, although at the time of my staying there was some light construction on the small rows of shops on the way up the driveway, although not overly intrusive.

Layout of the hotel is such that the villas face out to the pool in a row along the accessway, so if you are super private of fussy about people looking into your room you may not like it. Try and ask for a higher number villa as it will be further up the pathway so less traffic (numbers go from 101 - 115 - higher numbers being further back from the entrance).

Rooms are very spacious, with large bathroom, with full size bathtub, wifi, LCD, safebox, Aircon. Oddly no toiletries are supplied except a basically useless coin sized piece of soap, so bring your own or be prepared to buy from one of the many shops down the road. Finishing and fittings a bit rough in places but that's pretty standard for Cambodia.

Breakfast was decent, with set choices you nominate the night before and specify what time you want delivered. Usually it will come 15-20 mins after your time, so factor this is if you have activities/trips planned

Swimming pool small but clean, with enough deck chairs to go around.

Staff friendly and willing to help. Small issue when trying to extend 1 more night with the manager saying only the higher priced rooms were available and we would have to change rooms, although after some convincing agreed to keep same room and rate.

Overall not a bad choice for your trip to SHK...!!

Room Tip: Try the higher numbered rooms to get a bit more privacy 107-115

For example, there is no kitchen (breakfast has to be pre-ordered and is prepared off-site...). Staff in the "lobby" are pleasant, but have no tools or ability to really help you. We had an issue with patchy WiFi... which they were aware of. Solution proposed, they would bring it up with the owner next time he came from Phnom Penh. Not exactly useful.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

I booked two rooms for 6 nights for myself and my daughter via Agoda. When we arrived one of the rooms had been double booked for the first night so we had to make other arrangements. Whilst the staff were charming they left it up to us to sort out other accommodation. From reading other reviews this seems to happen quite a lot.

Once we were settled we had a great time. The rooms were lovely situated around the pool and the hotel is really well situated slightly off Serendipity Beach Road and within easy distance of the beech and the main area.

Great bungalows, lovely pool and great staff, apart from the manager who is a waste of space.
