“Best in Otres beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

we rented a room on Ochuntil Beach ,the first night we arrived Sihanuk sea port. it was not a pleasant experience, noise on the street make none of us sleep.
We decided to find somewhere nearby with a more peaceful ,relaxing place to stay for the next few days.
we kind of discovered the Otres Orchid by exploring the Otres beach. The bungalows has the traditional khmer look which we were looking for, it has all the amenity we need, quiet, clean, hot water shower. It also has a convenience store right on property carrying all the essential stuffs which is a plus for us without having to go into the city center to get them, and the staff are very friendly and helpful, always with a smile..Price very reasonable for a clean room like this at $20/night.
We certainly would recommend to our friends .

We enjoyed our stay here in two parts. Firstly for one night in one of their 2 bed rooms with a friend and secondly for 3 nights in a bungalow. Both stays were equally enjoyable!

The 2 bed rooms are $20 per night for up to 4 people, bargain, big rooms up and behind the bungalows. The shower room was a bit small but did the job, no hot water in these obese though plus you don't get a hammock. No big deal at the end of the day!

The bungalows are gorgeously formed, simple inside by all means. But for $15 per night for a private bathroom as well is perfect for Otres beach! Plus you get to stay just away from the noise of the bars where all the other accommodations literally are next door to! Shower has good clean water which is hot also. Nice balcony to sit out on and actually enough places and room for 2+ people to sit!

Staff extremely friendly and helpful, also booked onward cheap transport for us. Shop on site well stocked for basics and suitably priced. Wifi worked most of the time, they sorted it out when asked!

As said they don't take bookings, the place was fairly busy whilst we were there but people always got a room as there's quite a high turn around so do take the chance and just turn up!

The whole place is a perfect haven on Otres Beach, sad to leave.

I feel horrible writing this review because the people were so nice at Otres Orchid and we really like the accommodation itself. However, there was horribly loud electronica music coming from the bar across the road which persisted until about 4AM. We did not sleep. Not sure if that's a nightly occurrence but it was a weeknight so it's not as if it's something just on the weekends. That music is the only reason this is a poor rating; otherwise, I'd say this place is very good.

The bed was decent with a good mosquito net. A wardrobe is provided in the room. Our room was a little run down. The bathroom door didn't exactly close and the light bulb was burnt out. For the great price though it wasn't a bit deal. I really liked the deck with two chairs, a table, and a hammock. It's right across the street from the beach and all the associated restaurants but be forewarned it could get noisy at night. There is a small convenience store in the complex.

$10 Bamboo Bungalow with en-suite with fan, helpful staff, 30 sec from the beach but half the prices of a beach front bungalow. Wifi is ok but it didn't accommodate an iPad. at the time we strayed there was no food available but this was not an issue as we preferred to eat on the beach front. Papa Pippo does a great Italian. A big plus is Bamboo shack across the road which has amazing staff and great wifi and a great Amok curry. Easily the top $10 choice at Otres.

Room Tip: Any room will do, we had the one closest to the road and shop and there was no noise issues. It'...

We recently stayed for 2 nights and thought this was one of the best places to stay at Otres Beach. The bungalow was $10/night for a fan room which was adequate with the current weather. The only downside to our stay was the construction work which was being done in the low season. This started at 7am and lasted until midday which was annoying as it meant being woke up early and then nothing being done in the afternoon when people were actually out of their rooms. I'm sure this place will be great when the work is complete. The lady was also very helpful and booked our night bus tickets and let us have late check out as the place wasn't busy.

After arriving late at night and driving with a crazy-drunk-ripping-off-tuktuk driver to Otres beach and without having a reservation we ended up in this recently established family-run hotel. The rooms are very basic but also very cute and cleverly constructed bamboo bungalows with ensuite bathrooms. Each has a porch with a hammock. Because they are still building up the place there was some noise in the morning. The extremely friendly staff was so honest they told us about the construction site the night before and promised us not to start too early (not before 10 am) so we could get some sleep after the journey from Phnom Penh.

As mentioned the rooms are basic but at 10 USD / night the value couldn't be better. The only drawback is that even in such a new place all the bedsheets and pillows already smell a bit moldy, unfortunately. I understand the fact of such a humid climate influencing the drying process of laundry but anyway smelling mold throughout the entire night isn't what I consider a good night sleep.

Anyway, I am sure this will improve once the hotel is up and running and consider it the best option after having seen some other really filthy places at Otres Beach, some of which also have surprisingly high ratings on Tripadvisor...

Unfortunatley we had to leave after only two days due to an unforeseen sickness and the staff organized a private teansport back to Phnom Penh. They didn't even charge anything for the late checkout.

Honest and very sweet family staff!!!

Its the first place we stayed after we reached sihanoukville. Was suppose to check in at Everythang as we already booked it online but it turned out the owner didnt see the notification and that place was fully booked. Luckily we went and asked at Otres Orchid. Its a great place to stay with free towel, amenities and clean water. The hammock outside was nice to chill and relax. Overall it was a great stay and i will definitely go back if i ever visit sihanoukville again.
