“Great place to stay warm and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

Stay here 7 nights at the end of July 2012. Danny the Manager made us welcome from the start. Congratulation again on the new baby. Hotel is a real bargain and worth higher star rating. As mentioned in a lot of the other reviews the food is some of the best in town. Everything we tried we liked. Danny is the real star at this hotel and his Sunday Lunch is absolutely amazing with real gravy and yorkshire puddings. Room was clean and tidy. Great shower. Pool clean and well maintained. Only downside, we would have liked to talk to Danny a bit more as he's a great chap but understandably he had to put family first. We would go back without a thought again and again. Main tip for out and about, do not promote buying goods from children, if they make money they don't go to school. Sad but very true. Also monday night at hotel is Quiz night and is a great laugh. Thanks to everyone at coolabah.

We stayed at the Coolabah during our three-day visit to Sihanoukville. We chose this hotel based on the Tripadvisor reviews. We reallt enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was busy and there was a very nice and relaxed atmosphere. The rooms were clean and spacious. The bathrooms were modern. When visiting Sihanoukville, look no more if you are interested in a good value.

Good hotel, had balcony room on 2nd floor so lots of room and fresh air.
Very clean room but the shower was a bit dodgy with either too hot or too cold. Danny and staff were very friendly and provided plenty of advice on where to go. Disappointed with the food but overall a nice stay.

Room Tip: Choose a deluxe room with balcony on second floor - it's worth the climb.

This is a quaint hotel with an outstanding staff who did everything possible to coordinate our transfers from Phnom Penh and an island boat tour. The front desk crew, manager Danny, and the night manager are fantastic and friendly. We were even invited to participate in the locals' night trivia contest at the restaurant.
The rooms are simple, yet extremely clean. I highly recommend this hotel. Also, if in Sihanoukville, do NOT miss out on seeing the beautiful islands via the boat tour.

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony and chairs--there are only a few of them. I loved it, but I would not r...

We stayed at the coolabah hotel in mid May,, the room was lovely we chose a upper balcony room,, no lift so had to walk up two flights of stairs,, but ok,,, the room was nice and clean and lovely bathroom flat screen tv,,however when we arrived there was a power cut and the hotel generator was being repaired so had no electric for a couple hours,,
The hotel position was good ,, a five minute walk to the beach and lots of beach restaurants,,
We ate in the hotel restaurant a few times ,, the food was good ,, however the staff who were very polite were being trained,, so occasionally there was a misunderstanding,, however it was a very pleasant stay and although I probably wouldnt return to this area of Cambodia,, it seemed a younger persons resort,,if I did I would return to the coolabah,, was a little pricey and would choose a cheaper poolside room if I returned

It is no disgrace to be the no2 hotel in town when the no1 costs approximately 50 times more!
We enjoyed our stay at Coolabah. Initially we had a room beside the pool,we had a minor issue with the door lock which was swiftly solved. We extended for a further two days and David upgraded us to a room on the second floor. The food was excellent and we took our breakfast in the hotel each morning then alternated with lunch and dinner over the next three nights.
We booked a trip to the Three Islands which was cancelled due to choppy seas. Danny managed to book us on a tour to Ream National Park within minutes of pick up and we had a really great day.Douglas and Verona run a tight ship here and look after their guests. Security is excellent, there's a guard posted outside at nightime

Room Tip: Take an upstairs room, they are newly renovated
