Location, location ! right across from the Kern River, restaurants within walking distance. We had a downstairs room which was comfortable and well equipped with everything you could think of , including a terry robe for post shower ! We were greeted with tea and fresh baked brownies and the breakfast was delicious. Very comfortable highly recommend !

A couple friends and I reserved a night and dinner and I have to say, it was one of the best ideas we have had in a long time... what fun. the hostess was wonderful and the food perfect... the room was amazing... and I am fussy! Clean, comfortable,cozy and fresh. I loved all the details and the home touches.

Traveling across country, and we were looking for a restful break after camping at Arches and Zion en route to Yosemite. Googled B&B's at midway point (Kernville) and read wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor about Virginia, her Inn, and her hospitality so we made a reservation. Prior to arriving, we called to tell her we would be arriving around 8:30pm and simply as a courtesy, we asked how late was too late and her reply was...."after 11:00 is just rude". We thought this was an odd comment, but found this to be the theme for the two days we spent there. When we arrived, our car was parked out front on the street, since she never told us there was a lot out back. We discovered this on our own. She showed us in general where things were in the house and made it a point to tell us how tired she was because she had been up since 5:00am and was going to bed. We asked what time breakfast was and she said she served breakfast at 8:00. She said after 9:30 was "pushing it" and inconvenient for her. We got up at 8:30 for breakfast and there was only one other couple sitting at the table. She said since we got up early it would be about 15 minutes. We looked at each other puzzled, thinking we were making it easier for her. Every time we approached her she would ask "What can I do for you?" in a hostile manner. The next day we asked if she could recommend any hiking or local sites/scenery to see and she replied "Not really. I have very short apron strings, so I don't get out much". Taken back by this reply, we decided to try to stay out her way since whenever we asked a question, or tried to make pleasant conversation, she seemed to be annoyed. Maybe there were some personal problems in her life at this time, but we would not stay there again.
