“Outstanding Views, Tasting Hosted by Winemaker”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

If you seek a friendly, relaxed, yet elegant experience travel up Red Hills Road to Seigler Springs and taste at Laujor Estate. The sweeping views from the tasting room and patio, bird song, and genuinely welcome staff will rejuvenate and delight you. When we visited the winemaker, Cheryl Lucido, was our hostess. She gave us her undivided attention and even made time to show us through the patio, gathering room, and new B and B accommodation on the second floor (spacious and very reasonable rates) after our tasting. Our conversation ranged from the history of the winery to the soil to barrel toasts. Cheryl is an lovely person and happy to answer any questions you may have. She is also a talented wine maker. If you enjoy complex reds, don't miss the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Angelina's Blend. Her Sauvignon Blanc with it's hints of tropical fruit is the perfect wine for a warm summer afternoon on the deck. The Red Hills Appellation is quickly gaining notoriety. Be certain to include Laujor in your itinerary. The small five dollar tasting fee is applied toward your purchase.

“Nice tasting room - no tours available”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

As tasting rooms go this one is pretty nice. The building although not that big is very new. Located in very pleasant surrounding in Lake County, the view is scenic and the pouring room is ideally situated for a nice peaceful stop in wine country. The pours are generous and the staff is very friendly. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend this tasting room to others.

“Best of All!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014 via mobile

Five stars. One for the view (it is really like the picture), two for the open hearted people serving, making and owning this winery, three for the exquisitely welcoming decor, four for the wine...the reds are layered and robust...talented maker, for sure. Five for the best place I visited on a week long trip to Napa, Sonoma and Lake County.

“Amazing Wine Tasting, Great Views & Fun People = A+”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

Northern California is well known for its wines, but most people only think about the Napa Valley or Sonoma when it comes to wines... Well, if you are reading this then you at least 'get' that Lake County, CA and Kelseyville are producing some top quality wines or maybe I'm introducing you to that idea...

Two weeks before going tasting in Lake County, we were in Napa and from the rediculous price for tastings to how busy that area was, it was less than enjoyable and definitely was not relaxing.

We decided to try some tastings out at a new area and Laujor Estate Winery absolutely blew our minds!

First of all, the setting... You are perched on a hillside overlooking their vineyard and the neighboring vineyards which seem to carry on for miles along the hillside. They have built a dedicated tasting room with a great patio that is comfortable for small and large groups alike.

They say on their website to 'bring a picinic' and I agree! What a beautiful place to sit, taste some wines and enjoy some food?!?!

Also, when we were there, they were building a B&B above the tasting room, so it may be finished at this point which means you may have the possibility to stay at their amazing estate overnight to see the sun set and possibly the sun rise over the rolling hills.

Then there are the wines. It was hot when we showed up, so we went straight to the chilled white wines... First observation is that there was no pricing structure announced before hand, no requiring us to fork over $20 per person for a few sips!?!?! lol... Were not in Napa anymore! (who knows if they have started charging for tastings at this point, but when we were there it was indeed free)

Then came the pours... Wow. Not the tiny sip we were used to, this was enough wine to sip, taste and enjoy a bit on the back patio enjoying the view.

Ahhhh... The way wine-tasting probably was back in Napa's good-ole days!

We ended up staying and chatting with the taster (who was amazing), a couple other patrons (we practically had the place to ourselves) and we ended up meeting the owners and chatting with them as well. This is the kind of place you can enjoy for a couple hours, especially if you bring some snacks or food, which they encourage!

We went through all of their wines and they were amazing... I seriously enjoyed all of them and it is easy to tell that they are producing a TOP-SHELF quality wine as they are following their passion.

They will be able to tip you off to some of the other great tasting rooms in Kelsyville and the surrounding areas as they are well connected and have been a part of that community for years. A great place to start your tour, or end your tour... Or best yet, Both! :)

If you give them a call, they can tip you off on the best drivers and where to stay so you can make it a great weekend... They love sharing their passion their wine and their knowledge of the area, so I really recommend calling first if you want help arranging accommodations, a driver, etc.

We can't wait to go back!
