Up in Julian for Daffodil Festival on March 23rd. We ate dinner at Romano's with another couple. The restaurant was full, decorated with old-school red-and-white checked tablecloths...very cozy and inviting. We were seated right away, and service good all through our meal. The dinner salads were huge, and filled with all sorts of veggies, including olives, grape tomatoes, artichoke hearts, as well as cheese, in a light Italian dressing. Lasagna is my favorite entree, and this choice was a winner here. Served piping hot, gooey and cheesy, with plenty of sauce. Enough for left-overs the next day. Husband chose scampi over angel hair pasta...so, so good. Can't comment on dessert as we were too full to try any....oh, except my husband, who happily downed the spumoni. And our friends shared a big dinner salad and a pizza. Definitely will be back in Julian and definitely will dine at Romano's again. Sorry to see some bad reviews here...that was not our experience at all.
