“Clean and Accommodating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

We stayed for one night in the Summer and Winter rooms. Everyone in our party was over the moon at the quality of accommodations when we arrived. It is located off the main drag but was in easy walking distance to everything. The proprietors were quite welcoming and we felt as though they were genuinely interested in the quality of our stay.

We stayed in the Spring Room and it was beautiful and comfortable. Other rooms looked to be just as comfortable. Jim and Julie are kind, helpful and charming. Everything was clean, attractive and well appointed. lovely pool facilities and friendly golden retrievers for the pet deprived. The breakfasts were both delicious and beautifully presented...not to mention satisfying! Julian is a quaint, SMSA, historic town and well worth the visit. We'll be recommending to our friends.

Wonderful place to relax but must love dogs. Jim and Julia were great hosts and we loved their three Golden's. All rooms large and nicely decorated. Worth spending a little extra for the Spring room - includes two rooms - bedroom with fireplace and private bath and separate sitting room with lots of windows. Beds very comfortable and home cooked breakfast fabulous. Enjoyed sitting on deck and just looking at the view. Nice common areas. -- will return

We have recently stayed at the Eaglenest Bed and Breakfast and are long standing visitors for 10+ years. Why do we keep coming back? Because we feel so pampered and refreshed after every stay. As San Diegans, my husband and I enjoy the simplicity of a one hour drive to Julian to get away to the country town of Julian and our beautiful room at the Eaglenest Bed and Breakfast. Even just one night's stay is a luxury, let alone the whole weekend! Upon arrival we are greeted warmly and always find some delicious homemade treats. Our room is absolutely beautiful with many modern and comforting amenities. Our hosts, Jim and Julie are warm, approachable, cheerful and helpful. One time years ago, it was pouring rain in Julian. However, it didn't affect the enjoyment of our stay because we simply loved staying in this beautiful house all day. We found movies, popcorn, and games in the pantry and hunkered down for an enjoyable day. In the summer, we have enjoyed the beautiful pool and jacuzzi. Breakfasts are always a treat with gourmet fare and our enjoyment of interacting friendly guests and a visit from Jim and Julie's beautiful Golden Retrievers. An added bonus is that the house is near downtown Julian where there are unique shops, and short distances to travel for wine tasting, horseback riding, star gazing, and nature hikes. I can't wait to visit again!

Room Tip: If you want a lot of space, the Spring Room is for you. There is an adjacent suite with a TV and so...

I've stayed at Eaglenest B&B several times a year for years now, but have never stayed at the Eagle in the Pines cabin. My brother and I were looking for a bit of post holiday relaxation after Christmas, so we were delighted to spend several days at the cabin. It truly is a home away from home experience. What made it extra special is that the cabin is pet friendly, so our two beagles were able to enjoy the mountain getaway with us. The cabin is close to town and all sights are within easy driving distance if you want to stay busy. If you just want to chill and unwind, I can't recommend a better place than Eagle in the Pines or its sister property, Eaglenest Bed and Breakfast.

Room Tip: If you stay at the b&b and are found of real wood fireplaces, book the Winter Room. It has wond...

In mid Sept. 2012 we stayed at The Eaglenest, it was our first experience staying at a B&B. And let me tell you it was exceptional! Our welcome from Jim (Julie was out of town for a wedding) and the dogs was warm and friendly. We stayed in the summer room and felt at home instantly. It was spacious, inviting and comfy, the first thing we wanted to do was dig into the locally made Julian apple/berry pie YUM! It was the perfect beging to a quiet relaxing weekend. My husband and ate some pie, unpacked our overnight bags, steped into our bathing suits and headed to the pool. We felt we were in our neighbors backyard, such a relaxing feeling. we took a swim and then a nap in the hamock pool side. We walked into town at dusk for a good dinner and strolled back on a warm Sept night. We were up early the next morning, made coffee in our room, watched the sunrise from the deck and breakfast by Jim the next morning was outstanding as well as breakfast the next day. My husband was leary about staying at a B&B, having to eat with strangers, sharing a house with strangers and he wasn't sure he would feel comfortable. The other 3 couples that stayed that weekend were so down to earth and friendly it was really nice. There was a family re-uniting that was heartwarming and tearful. He can't wait to go back! We are hoping to someday go back and visit and spend more time getting to know Julie as well as Jim. And just like almost everyone else the dogs who were so sweet and welcoming we felt we were at home with our pets begging for love :)
blessings Julie and Jim until we meet again. Ellen and Greg

Room Tip: Wake up early and enjoy the sunrise, you won't be disappointed. Be adventurous and go skysailing...

What a perfect weekend! Upon arrival we found a burning fireplace, a lit candle and two pieces of apple pie in our room; Evidence of intentional preparation to welcome us. Our room was perfectly clean and the bed perfectly comfortable. Delicious breakfasts served at 9:00 each morning. The location is ideal...close enough to walk to town but set apart enough to feel like you're away from it all. Jim and Julie are a delightful couple and amazing hosts.
