We spent the weekend at Mojave Sands Motel & the place is truly a labor of love and a work of art. The owner, Blake, is a good human being with the right livelihood and an attention for detail that far surpasses most designers/architects in this day & age. The building, rooms, garden ~ all stunning in a very understated way & little kitschy objects that lend humor to an otherwise seriously good design. Love the old record player and the added bonus that Blake has an excellent taste in music. The bathroom boasts one of the most powerful steam showers I've ever been in ~ better than a five star spa... The only downside is that you don't want to leave the place to explore the desert! Why leave an oasis? We can't wait to go back & take in the chill of this most amazing atmosphere. Thank you Blake for creating all this beauty!
