“Delicious and Savory”

I loved the convenience of the restaurant and the food was so tasty. I really loved the bread and the sauce/dip they serve to go with it.

“Manager ruined the mood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013 via mobile

We went to the reservation desk at about 7:50, since sunset was due at 8:15. We met with Jason , the restuarant manager. When I told him that we did not have reservations , he did his best to make pretend that this was a major oversight on our part. He even looked at his watch , thn said that he thought he could get us sitted if we hurried. Looking around the room , we easily saw 7 empty tables. We also noted that only z2 other couples sat down after us.

The food was unexceptional. Except for the braised short ribs , the food was a little tasteless. While it was okay , it was not exceptional as I would have expected for these high prices. The dessert we ordered was a molten chocolate cake. It came with a big glob of hard chocolate in the center. Not even melted all the way thru.

We enjoyed our waiter , Leif, but we were really put off by Jason the manager and his antics at the reservation table. Not a lot of choices to eat in this location , since it is on a stretch of remoteness. While it was okay , it was not exceptional. Noteworthy , but in a negative way.

“Forgettable breakfast didn't impress us. Inconsistent service, food arrived luke warm.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Breakfast underwhelmed us. The lodge is in such as scenic spot, which is worth stopping at on your way up the coast as it so relaxing and beautiful. The restaurant doesn't sing out though. I want to love it, but the food just isn't that great. We thought the selection was weak. No pancakes, no oatmeal, or selection of omelets. If you like eggs benedict, you'll probably be happy. Our breakfast arrived with stodgy cubed fried potatoes, not piping hot eggs and toast luke warm, greasy bacon. Also, maybe I'm alone but if you're paying top dollar for breakfast, I expect something unique such as, house made items (bread, cereal, yogurt), not prepackaged jams sitting on the table, and OJ that is not fresh squeezed. The coffee was very good but the poor waitress couldn't keep up with the tables, so often we were sitting with no coffee in our cups. I guess they don't have bussers? I guess if you're the only game around for breakfast, you can get away with this.

“Excellent...and a relief,,,”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Alexander's was the best thing about the TCI. Dinner was 'standard Cali coastal' with lots of good option and pretty good value. Breakfast was also very good. Wine list is pretty good as well.
A relief as there are no other real dining options in area...

“Nice setting, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

Very pretty, rustic restaurant. When there's no fog (which isn't very often), the view is gorgeous. Great service, food is just ok.
