Thanks to TripAdvisor reviews we found the Jackson Lodge. We needed a place for my two elementary school-aged kids, my husband and me to stay on our trip through Gold Country.

The Jackson Lodge is a nice two story older motel that has been well taken care of. The new owners took it over about 3 years ago. The heater in our room was new and worked quite well. I imagine it would be a good air conditioner, too. The water was hot. The beds were comfortable. The main view was out the back of the room - a huge window looked out onto a large meadow. We noticed little raod noise from Hwy 49.

The breakfast was road-trip danish and a juice machine and coffee. Just enough to take the edge off, and a way to give our kids their favorite road trip food before getting going. The staff said that they are considering adding a breakfast buffet. The breakfast is served in the lounge that is adjacent to the office. The outdoor pool
got good reviews from my kids.

Our huge less-than-$90 room had a king sized bed in the main area and a double for the kids in an alcove near the door. They have a few
duplex cabins, too. But I didn't get a close look.

The staff were very nice and helpful and responsive.

I would definitely stay here again if I were on a wine country trip with my husband or an another family trip in the area.

We wanted to get out of town for a one night getaway and chose Amador County so we could explore some new territory. After calling a few other B&Bs and finding no vacancies, we finally found a room at the Jackson Lodge.
We liked the location and that the rooms were set back off the highway. The room was clean and comfortable. My complaints come with the bed and bedding. The king sized bed was extremely hard and the pillows were awful. Why is it that hotels never seem to have decent pillows? I spent a good portion of the night bunching up the pillows trying to make two into one decent feeling pillow. I was highly unsuccessful.
I'd read that the Continental Breakfast left a little to be desired and that was not an understatement. Packaged danish and juice does not make a decent breakfast. I was really hoping for a little bit more than this.

My mother, sister and I stay in the cabins every spring. They are very comfortable with a king bed and a sofa sleeper and we love the full kitchen. Each cabin is like a darling little apartment! We have also stayed in the hotel rooms and loved the fact that each of us had our own bed. The grounds are also very nice, perfect for an easter egg hunt!

The Jackson Lodge is a well maintained, older motel-style property on the edge of Jackson, CA. The location, at the bottom of a steep driveway off Hwy 49, is very quiet. Rooms were large and well-kept, with most having been refurbished fairly recently. The bathroom was up to date and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The air conditioning, thankfully, worked well in 110 degree weather. The motel is convenient to the Amador/El Dorado wine country. Prices were reasonable for the quality.

We went on a trip to the Gold Country without making reservations. We thought there would be no trouble getting a room. Lucky for us, the Jackson Lodge had one room left. The room was clean and comfortable. In my 20 years of professional travel I have met beds that were not made for sleeping. I got a great nights sleep. The staff helped us carry our things up the stairs and offered again when we left, without our asking, if they could help us brings things down the stairs. Over all I would recommend the Jackson Lodge to anyone.
