“Comfortable beds”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2007

This hotel has undergone a recent renovation of their rooms. The decor was tasteful, furniture looked brand new, bathrooms had granite counter tops, and the pillow top beds/linens were really comfortable. The hotel itself was very old though. The hallways were dark and my room had popcorn ceilings. I couldn't hear neighbors talking through the walls but every night and every morning I could hear toilets flushing from all the rooms around me....very strange. Also, if your in the room during the day and facing the airport/runway side, the noise of the jets landing is fairly loud. The in-unit air-conditioning system was also very loud. If you're sensitive to noise I would recommend staying in a newer hotel in the area, further away from the airport.

Very convinent property that is in a great central location to everything we needed in Orange County. All of the rooms were newly renovated and the beds were great.

The renovation was well done. I found a comfy bed, a clean, spacious room and bathroom, and pleasant public areas. The elevators are the only sign of age remaining at this property. Great breakfast buffet, too. Like others, I'm put-off by the high parking fees, but it seems everything in the area is very high. The location is one-half block from the airport entrance, though the positioning of the hotel (and noise restrictions) prevent airplane noise annoyance.

  • Liked — Great room and bed
  • Disliked — Pricey-ness

basic hilton. You have to pay to park, a fact that I'm not crazy about, but most hotels in that area charge. Nice bed.

Stayed two nights on a buisness trip. The mattress and bedding were so cushy and comfortable! Room was very clean and furnished nicely.

  • Liked — comfortable room
  • Disliked — no shopping or gas stations close, had to use freeway to get to basic necessities

First time in this hotel. I travel to Orange 3 times monthly. Usually I stay at the Embassy Suites on Main Street (average as well), but this time the ES was booked. I was in room 821 for my one night stay. The staff was very friendly at both the front desk and at breakfast the next day. Pay for parking ??? Why?? I already paid $209/night which is >$70 more than the Embassy Suites 1 mile away, and adding ~$9 on top of that to park my rental car is not right. I did not use the internet access nor room service so I cannot comment on those. The hotel staff pasted "please excuse our dust" signs all over speaking to their up coming renovations this month. I must say, the hotel looks dated, but the room was clean, the TV worked fine and the view from the accesible balconey was very nice. With the door closed, I could not hear the airplanes, but I could see them take off. It was a nice touch to a long day.

I stayed in the Hilton for the start of my 3 week holiday in the US. Being part of a group rate booking helped out, paying $84 per night I thought was ok.

Being across from John Wayne airport was a concern, but did not find this too much of a noise problem. I was kept awake more by the air conditioning fans from the restaurant.

The bed was very clean, comfortable, with good service from the staff.

Would recommend it if you can get a bit of discount.
