Lazy Dog Cafe is a nice local chain restaurant that most everyone will enjoy. The decor is a smart, modern, northwest theme. The food touches all the major bases: American, Asian, Italian, etc. along with hamburgers, pizza, salads, and children's menu. The signature appetizer here seems to be the garlic flatbread which is pretty good. Among the entree items, it can be hit or miss sometimes. All the burgers are good, but no real surprises here. The pot roast and meatloaf entrees are delicious and they are big enough to split for two. Also, the side salad to the entree is good and enough to split. The pizzas are creative and delicious and they offer a different take than the corner pizza joint. The menu misses come from either being bland or not enough. The hummus appetizer is one that is rarely seen from an American restaurant chain, but it needs improvement; no one of mid-Easter origin would mistake this hummus from the real thing. Also, while the fish and chips are great, there's not enough to make an entree. The children's menu is standard with the exception of "build-your-own-pizza." Here, the pizza comes uncooked and the child tops the pizza as desired. Then, it is returned for cooking. The kids real like the authentic pizza taste. For dessert, don't miss the skillet brownie - it's the best in town.
For seating, the bar is lively with all sports action and mixed drinks. For dog owners, of course there's the patio which is comfortable, heated, and outdoor fire pits. Between inside, bar, or patio seating, everyone will find there comfortable corner.
Lazy Dog will be popular for some time to come.
