“Beautiful, Peaceful, CLEAN Suites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014 via mobile

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, clean, clean. Zen-like contemporary rooms. You feel relaxed as soon as you enter the room. Separate water closet with a sink, fan, and door....hurray. Vanity, sink, and shower in another separate room with door. Comfortable mattresses. Sculptured CLEAN carpeting. Quiet hotel. Mini microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Separated by frosted glass work area with desk, chair, couch and table.
Complimentary breakfast outside (cute area with fireplace facing parking lot) or inside ( beautiful aesthetic...number of the decorator please). Helpful , considerate staff. Refilled items (best blueberry muffins I've ever had)even though we came at the end of breakfast (love the flexibility). Manager speaking to employee about CLEANING a small stain on decorative curtain in breakfast area.. Just the kind of neurosis I appreciate. Small pool and workout area. Safe surrounding area. 1.9 miles from airport to comfort and relaxation.

Hotel overall was very good. Breakfast was always replenished despite a large crowd at one time. Fitness center equipment needs work. TVs on treadmills also don't work. If the Fitness center is important to you, stay someplace else. Staff very friendly.

My family and I spent 2 nights here in two different rooms. The first room was great other than the fact that we were next to the laundry facility and the room started shaking when they ran the machines. As long as you are leaving early and/or returning late, this room is fine and quite spacious. But if you're like us and want to spend time hanging out for a bit before heading out for the day, you'll need a room away from the laundry. Perfect room for business travelers though! Maybe they should ask your agenda if they are planning to give you that room.

Other than that, my only other complaint is the lack of a hot tub. When we travel it's usually to relax and unwind. A small indoor pool does not do the trick. Again, fine for the business traveler who just needs a place to sleep close to the airport. Location is close to the freeway, which is convenient to get on the road for travel to destinations nearby. This did not seem to affect noise level inside though.

I really enjoyed the downstairs lobby decor. Beautiful fabrics and stylized with wood and metals made it unique to sit and relax while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. Looks like its right out of a magazine.

The front desk staff was polite, informative, and ready to help. Other staff members were friendly as well. All things together made for a comfortable stay, and the room rate was right for the amenities offered at this property.

Room Tip: Stay away from laundry room on each floor if you plan to be in your room during the late morning/ear...

Green Features: Water conservative toilets and shower heads were nice to see considering the drought climate we are in.

This hotel was pretty good comparing it to others of it's kind. The breakfast was great, especially the Belgian Waffles that you make yourself. Our room had a big fan in it when we arrived because they had just cleaned the carpet which made me a little nervous that it wouldn't be completely dry, but it seemed fine. The bed was very comfortable. The workout room was nice and clean. Everything was very clean. It's a very convenient location. My only issue was the light in the bathroom. It was either very hard to push or it was automatic, but it only worked sometimes and I couldn't figure out the deal with it. I also didn't really like the sliding door. But the room set up was very nice with a divider between the desk, couch area and the bed, and I liked how the tv could be accessed by either side of the divider.

Spent one night here on a Marriott certificate. Got a decent King Suite.

The hotel is quite well maintained in and out. The breakfast is the best I've ever seen at similar hotels.

The location is quite nice. Driving to SNA takes just 5 minutes usually.

A couple of problems. First, you don't hear plane noise, but road noise is really problematic. The window seems fine, but engine sounds can really penetrate. Second, shower water pressure is sub par.

Will return if visiting SNA and Irvine area.

We needed a place to stay for a night and luckily, there were many mid-range hotels in this region. We considered DoubleTree, Holiday Inn, Embassy Suites, and Best Western, but ultimately settled on Springhill Suites due to location and amenities (we wanted a smoke-free hotel with free wifi, parking, and breakfast).

This hotel is located just 3 minutes from the airport. Additionally, they offer free airport shuttles on the half hour from 5am-10pm. The hotel is also just a block away from the highway, so it is easy to get around.

The staff at this hotel are well-trained. We were promptly greeted and check-in was a 5-minute breeze. At breakfast, staff periodically asked guests how they were doing and if they needed anything. Additionally, they immediately cleared tables once guests were done and refilled the breakfast bar.

Cleanliness is paramount for us and this hotel was clean from top to bottom. Sheets were spotless, bathroom was spotless, there was no mold in the grout (hate this), and the room passed the finger dust test.

In terms of room amenities, the bed was comfortable. Other chains, such as Hilton, definitely have more comfortable beds, but we were still able to get a good night's sleep here. We greatly appreciated having a fridge and microwave and liked the separation of dining and living areas. A separate toilet also expedited the morning routine.

The best part about this hotel was hands down the breakfast. Most hotels with free breakfasts only serve stale bagels, pastries, and fruit. Breakfast at Springhill Suites was a different story. The spread did include a variety of breads, pastries, and fruit, however it also included hot oatmeal (with plenty of toppings), scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage, deli meats and cheeses, yogurt, a variety of cereals, and juices and teas. They even had nutella! We were very satisfied with the breakfast and rank it as the best free hotel breakfast we've ever had. What a great way to start the day. The fact that we were able to make sandwiches for the road was the cherry on top.

Overall, we will definitely return to Springhill Suites. The great staff, overall cleanliness, and superb breakfast separate it from the competition and we had an excellent experience.

Room Tip: We looked at the floor plans...all the rooms are about the same size (beds with 2 rooms are obviousl...

Location is awesome, close to freeways, john wayne airport, UCI, Costa Mesa mall, etc. Room was nice, clean, and spacious as usual springhill suites.

Two things I did not like: 1) didn't see the usual pancake/waffle maker for breakfast. 2) The location for the sink faucet in the bathroom is about an inch too far from the sink itself. It's a cool modern looking faucet but the water barely just reaches the sick basin and if you want to hold your hands out to fill them with water, you will most likely be touching the side of the sink which is uncomfortable. The location also makes you focus on one side of the sink and the other side is left basically useless. Good modern idea but not properly implemented. On the other hand the same sink on the smaller bath with the smaller sink is located just fine.
