“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

believe the positive reviews, this place is just outstanding. it's not inexpensive, the portions aren't huge, but the food is first-rate, interesting, delicious and of solid quality - equally important, to me at least, is that the restaurant itself is very charming and meshes perfectly with the area - in other words you don't feel like you're just eating at a nicer city restaurant, you feel like you're eating at a cozy little place along the coast, far removed from the rat-race.

“tasty”

The oysters were fresh and delicious. Duck salad was great idea for lunch. Pizza too was yummy, light and tasty. The bread and olive oil to start with were most delicious too.

“Oysters!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

Sitting in the sun, eating a dozen oysters! I'm in heaven! Local and from Washington state, I only wished for a better hot sauce and bread that was not so hard.

“Nice setting, pricey food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

I was part of a large group that ate here. We had a nice outside table and had a good time. However, the food was not exceptional, and it was pricey. There aren't a whole lot of other restaurants in this beautiful area, so I wouldn't rule Saltwater out in the future.

“Fresh and local”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

We stayed in Inverness around the corner from this restaurant for Memorial Day weekend. After a long day hiking, it was great to just wander over and hang out until we could get a table. They don't take reservations here for parties of less than 6; and they vastly (and fairly consistently) over-estimate the wait times. Fortunately, we were warned, so when they told us (at 6:30 Sunday evening) that we'd need to wait an hour, we said fine, and were seated by 7 pm. Food was excellent, menu changes daily, so it's very fresh. Our disappointment was they were out of oysters that night, but the pork chop I had was fabulous, and the fish was perfectly cooked as well. We were blessed with a lovely evening, so enjoyed hanging out beforehand with a glass of wine on the patio.
