“Divine spot for a restful getaway or family gathering”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2009

Right on the beach, this small (4 cottage) self-serve B and B is our favorite getaway in the Bay Area. Each cottage is well-equipped with everything you need, down to the bathrobes and the ample firewood. The setting could not be more spectacular - Tomales Bay with its constantly changing light and tides. And nearby are wonderful hikes, great birding, terrific food, and fabulous beaches. A couple of days at Dancing Coyote Beach is just what the doctor ordered for a restful and satisfying getaway. We've also rented all four cottages for a family reunion, which really worked!

The setting couldn't be more beautiful - in a landscape like none other. Bright green rolling hills, sparkling blue water of Tomales Bay, full moon rising over Black Mountain. And in the evening, the Big Dipper overhead seen through the skylights in the sleeping loft. A crackling fire, private deck overlooking everything, even a coyote sighting in the early evening. All within an easy drive of Golden Gate National Recreation Area and the wonderful town of Point Reyes Station. An artist's dream come true!
Thank you Dancing Coyote Beach!

My husband and I have been staying here for years and choose it over any other spot in the area. We have rented houses in Inverness and stayed at most of the B & B / hotel establishments and Dancing Coyote is always our first choice.

The Dancing Coyote is designed for people who want a casual and low-key escape in a beautiful setting. Cabins have amazing views and are appointed for large comfort on a small scale. The cabins are perfect for couples and we have enjoyed many meals in front of the fire followed by coffee on the outside deck in the garden. The kitchens are stocked with treats to make a wonderful breakfast to start your day. Daily housekeeping keeps everything tidy even during stays of a week or more.

We have shared this gem with many friends and we all enjoy "giving a shout out" to each other in the in-room journals. We all feel as if we are part of a private Dancing Coyote Beach club!

We rented the studio cabin with sleeping loft, kitchen, deck and fireplace. The cabin was sweet, charming, and uhhh so comfortable. There was a beautiful view of the bay right outside the window and we were able to truly relax.
The environment was quiet, except for the street noise which quieted down in the evening.
I highly recommend this place to families, couples and friends.
While grouped with a few other cabins there is still a sense of privacy.

My husband and I stayed here for five days. It 's one of the best places we've ever stayed at in the Pt. Reyes/Inverness area, and we have stayed at quite a few. In fact we have been
coming up from southern California every year in June for about
ten years so we know a thing or two about the accommodations in the area. The cabins are clean and beautifully maintained daily.
The beds are sublime with equally good sheets and towels. The grounds are just lovely too. Flowers everywhere and great places to sit on the property and read the day away. Its also walking distance to the little markets and local restaurants in town. Best of all at night when the moon is full you get to lay in bed and have the most
amazing view of Tomales Bay. A lovely stay, we hope to be back again next year.

My husband and I felt for the two days and nights we stayed at Dancing Coyote, we were in a most special part of the world. Only an hour outside of SF, and we were transported to the cozy comfort, yummy breakfasts and warm hospitality of the innkeepers!
We plan to make a post New Year's eve weekend here an annual event.
Couldn't ask for a better bed to sleep off last year's worries!

Inverness, California, is a remote cluster of houses and buildings on the westerm shore of Tomales Bay. It is immediately south of the entrance to Point Reyes National Seashore. There are few places to stay here. I was pleasantly surprised by the Dancing Coyote. The property is on the bay just up the hill from the "town." It consists of four small townhouse-like units, the beach, very nice landscaping, and outdoor seating areas on the water. We stayed in the Skye unit, which is the smallest. It is smaller than our master bedroom, but has a sofa with a trundle bed, fireplace, galley kitchen, dining table, and a loft bed. It was not too small for the two of us, but I would not have wanted to have a child here. Breakfast is in the fridge: eggs, coffee, yogurt, English muffins, etc. The shower is outside on the deck (which sounds weird) but given the lay-out of the property and the way it was built it is very private (albeit a little cool in the morning.) The room was clean and the kitchen had everything you would need to cook all of your meals there. (There is even a BBQ grill on the property.) The room rate ($135/night) was very reasonable but must be paid in advance. People come to this area to hike, birdwatch and relax. The Dancing Coyote is a good "home base" for these activities. We would come here again. Having said this, the property is not a Ritz Carlton and people who have that expectation should go elsewhere, say, the Ritz Carlton on Half Moon Bay because there are simply no such properties in this immediate area.
