“Oasis in the Desert”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2010

A great timeshare resort for families. Great surroundings, loads of pools, hot tubs, lazy river, games room, etc. Rooms are well equipt, spacious, good kitchenette facilities. A golf course next door with 36 holes and good twilight rates for guests.

First, the good:
1. Clean pools, lots of chairs
2. Lazy river is a nice option - kids really enjoyed it.
3. Beautiful maintained grounds/landscaping.
4. Nice to get a 2 bedroom unit for our family of 5.

Now, the bad:
1. Cheap, cheap construction. Every noise is heard from the units upstairs. Our dishwasher was not mounted properly and every time it was turned on, we thought it was going to explode. Our screen door kept falling off and we could never open the slider door without jimmying it with our room key.
2. No decent restaurants nearby. If you like to eat out, be prepared to drive into at least La Quinta, but probably more like Rancho Mirage (a good 1/2 hour drive). There is only a Dominoes Pizza onsite.
3. Scratchy towels/bedding.

Bottom line - we wouldn't stay here again - it's not terrible, but the main thing for us is that we prefer to be closer to restaurants and things to do.

There were 4 of us, my wife, two cousins and myself. The girls walked and swam every morning while I enjoyed the sun.

The unit was clean and roomy for the the 4 of us and the service was great!!

What else can I say, we had a fantastic 2 weeks except for the rain for the last 3 days.

We stayed at this resort for a weekend getaway. We booked this as an affiliate since we are not owners with Worldmark. We booked the 1st weekend of November and surprised it was 85 degrees by 10am. Check in was fast and easy however we were shocked when we were informed there was a $23 CA sales tax for the room. This is the first time we had to pay any kind of tax staying at a California timeshare. The resort is about 20-25 minutes away from Palm Springs but there is a Casino right down the road.

Our positives: This property is huge and the views are beautiful. The grounds and pools are clean and the lazy river is relaxing. The gym has newer equipment to use. The Store in the complex is well stocked. We did not use The Spa but a nice option. The patio with barbecue was terrific. We used it each night. The employees we spoke with were friendly and helpful.

Our negatives: We stayed in building 1 on the second floor. As noted on previous reviews the construction must have been done cost effectively. We heard the family above us walking all around their room and when the washer and dryer was in use it sounded like it was in our room. The walls are thin since our neighbor snored us a serenade each night. Guests walking up and down the stairs with their luggage rattled the windows and floors. Be prepared to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, lotion and mouthwash. Small bars of soap are in the rooms.

You can't beat the bonus time Worldmark deals - super cheap nights for full apartment-style living. My husband and I stayed for a weekend getaway in early September. We spent a whole day by the pools and on the lazy river - the smaller pool (further away from the lazy river and the Dominoe's) is much less crowded and much quieter.

The room and kitchen were great, as usual. The pools were fine (the lazy river is pretty small, but functional, and serves its purpose). The activity area was packed (ping pong tables, air hockey, foosball, etc) because it was over 100 degrees while we were there. There was a wide variety of video rental choices.

Location wise, it's a drive away from the heart of Palm Springs, but that was fine for us, since we were just looking to soak up some sun. I'd come again for another short trip. Buy your groceries one exit west (before) the resort - there's a super Target, and a WINCO!! :)

Check-in was fast. Place looks very new and well maintained. The kiddie pool was great for toddlers. Lazy river is another fun thing for kids were you borrow a foating donut with handles and go around in circles with the slow moving current. The water was very warm from the heat of the sun. If you cannot stand the desert weather during the long summer months, make sure you stay away from here because it is really hot ~100 F even at night. Had some very noisy neighbor partying toward late night, called security and they took care of it, but wish they went around and spot check more often since the previous night the same thing happened. Rooms have full kitchen, washer and dryer, but no personal amenities. Large enough to sleep 6 adults.

This was an exchange through RCI for a MUCH NEEDED rest and family vacation. Too noisy to relax, construction very cheap, had people walking on our heads all hours of the day and night, pools dirty, grounds dirty..... Arrived on a Saturday and left on Monday. Lost our exchange, our vacation, a big disappointment! This was not the resort it is advertised to be! WorldMark and RCI... shame on you!
