“I would return, with savings promotion.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2011

My friend and I stayed 2 nights at the Miramonte for a girls’ trip. We booked using a LivingSocial.com promotion. We had a wonderful stay and will keep our eye out for future deals at this spa resort. We were able to check in at 10:30 in the morning. The front desk staff was very helpful in providing us with information about the surrounding areas and was able to help us find places to shop and eat. Our room was plush, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. We enjoyed our balcony and the huge tv. There is very little night life at the resort. We attempted to go to the lobby bar, but service was slow, and wine prices were high. We chose to get a bottle of wine and sit by the fireplaces that are scattered over the resort. We were undisturbed and enjoyed the view of the snow covered mountains.
We spent our second day at the spa and it was a phenomenal experience. The staff was attentive without being intrusive. We spend all day there and never wondered where a server or staff member was for service, but also never felt hovered over. We both enjoyed the 98 degree pool and the 110 degree private pool. The towels, robes, and slippers were comfortable and plush. We enjoyed a lunch by the pool and enjoyed having healthy spa specialty options.
Our treatments were superb. The treatment rooms were a bit chilly, and that would be the only small complaint. The service staff were excellent and my friend and I both commented on the graciousness and quality of the service. The steam room, showers, products, and women’s locker room were clean and well organized. We were unable to participate in the yoga or tai chi classes, and would enjoy having more options to participate or to choose private instruction.
We did not eat at the resort, but room service was quick and served hot. The fitness room was small but well organized and there were often people using it. It was a bit chilly to enjoy the large resort pool, though it was beautiful with plenty of towels, shade covers, and a full bar. The pool also had food service.
I think the overall price of the Miramonte is competitive with other resorts in this class, however, it is over my budget without a special savings promotion. Our room was billed at $250 a night, and we paid half that with our LivingSocial deal. The food and alcohol prices were much higher than in town, especially the wine prices. There was also a “resort charge” daily that was not included as well as parking fees. There is ample self parking and is 8$ a night vs 15$ for valet. Also the self parking is convenient to guest rooms.

My sister and I spent a couple of nights at this resort after finding an amazing internet price. We had a wonderful relaxing time. The grounds are immaculate and full of flowers. The hammocks in the gardens are large and perfect for lounging and enjoying the scenery. The pool was uncrowded and they had cool flavored water available for the guests, a nice touch! We loved the large "beds" at the pool, perfect for sleeping or spreading out in the sun. We had a lovely breakfast at the hotel restaurant, but did not use the spa. Our room was peaceful and comfortable. I would stay here again. Thank you for a lovely visit.

Just returned from a long weekend at Miramonte resort. Overall a great trip, but a few key issues. First, the good stuff....

PROS
- Beautiful grounds. Very well maintained
- Food was amazing. Dinner at the restaurant was one of the best we've had at a hotel.
- Service was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
- Great pool!

CONS
- The room! It's a bit outdated...could definitely use a remodel. The bathroom was more in line with what you'd find at a low-end hotel, def. not a luxury resort.
- Noise - The walls are paper thin, so you can hear EVERYTHING! We had to change rooms b/c it was so bad at first. We could hear every sneeze, and ever toilet flush. When our neighbor ran their water, the pipes would shake the room. Luckily we get up early, b/c there is no way you'd be able to sleep through someone on either side taking a shower.

But regardless of the problems w/ the room, we had a very enjoyable trip at Miramonte. Hopefully they renovate their rooms - so we can come back to visit again.

My aunt and I spent to luxurious days at this resort, and we were treated with the utmost kindness. We had a treatment per day for two days and they were knowledgable and very courteous at the spa, and also guest services. Although it was a bit nosiy, and that was because we were on the bottom floor and the guest above weren't considerate. But it lasted only a brief moment. I would definitely go again.

the rooms are large enough but VERY plainly furnished with little luxury or chram. You will hear every footstep and voice as there is no noise reduction.

Our experience here had its ups and downs. We stayed for a couple of nights in early January, getting away from city life and rainy weather for a long weekend.

The Miramonte is barely "alright" for a hotel and is definitely not a resort. The staff is generally friendly and helpful and the location is convenient if you are playing golf at one of the many nearby courses. The Grove and the adjacent lounge, serves a nice if limited menu, and they make an excellent old fashioned. The grounds are very pretty and exceptionally well maintained. Evidence of improvements is most noticeable here, with very nice loungers at the pool and the sculptural hammocks (really, sculptural AND comfy). While it wasn't crowded during our stay, I can easily see how the ratio of guests to loungers could be problematic.

The Well, the spa at Miramonte, is lovely and relaxing. My favorite part of our stay.

The inescapably major drawback is the rooms. They feel very sterile and are looking a bit tired. This might sound picky, but there are no robes or slippers in the rooms, which I expected, and the bath was a standard tub/shower combo. The most positive thing I could say is that they are roomy and the tv is huge.

However, the walls are so thin, its impossible to get any kind of sleep. It is VERY, VERY LOUD. You can hear every footstep from above, every person walking down the hall, and every door closing nearby. There is a large gap between the door and the floor, which doesn't help with noise or light (when the connecting room, adjacent to us got up at the crack of dawn, so did we). One morning, I overheard the gentleman next to us brushing his teeth...the tapping of the brush, brushing, swishing...the whole bit. Yeesh.

We were eventually moved to a room with an interior corridor (building 12) which helped with the noise somewhat. Neither of us are light sleepers and are accustomed to city noise, but nobody likes being sleep deprived on vacation. We had pre-paid for our room and were so unhappy we checked out early. We checked into the La Quinta because we thought we'd rather pay double for the hotel and actually enjoy our time.

If you are staying for business or meetings, this might work for you. But for vacation travelers, I would not recommend this property. There are much better options.

Thank you for your feedback on your most recent stay at our resort. We are pleased you had the opportunity to experience the service and food in our lounge and restaurant. Additionally, it was nice to hear that you enjoyed the pool area and the resort’s hammocks. I do apologize for the noise in your original room and glad we were able to move you to a room that was quieter. We will address the noise issue stemming from the connecting door with our team to avoid any future inconveniences. Thank you again from bringing these items to our attention and we do hope that you will give us another try.

This hotel does not replace dirty coffee mugs and drinking glasses in the rooms each day. The maid rinses them and wipes them dry (with a towel she has probably used in other rooms) and leaves the same glasses and mugs in the room to be used over and over again. I'm sure the ones we had in our room had been used by the previous guests, and the ones before that, for who knows how long?? We're positive they were the same--we identified them by marks on the bottom. The maids do not carry glasses or mugs on their carts--there were no replacements the whole time we were at the hotel. We stayed three nights in a room with a king bed. The bed was incredibly saggy--no support at all--and neither of us slept well. Our toilet tank had a leak--we had to listen to a constant dripping noise, which was occasionally drowned out by the voices and TV noise from neighboring rooms. The walls were VERY thin. We'll never stay at the Miramonte again.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. I have reviewed your comments with my entire housekeeping and engineering team. These comments are not indicative of the level of service and guest room cleanliness that we and our guests come to expect from the Miramonte Resort & Spa. It is an absolute expectation and a standard that all glassware is cleaned after use, through our dish washing sanitizing station. On behalf of myself and the entire team, we apologize and thank you for your feedback and hope you will give us another opportunity in the future to show you that they have been addressed. Thank you again.
