“Great Room, Great Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

My wife and I made last minute reservations after checking in at the Hyatt Palm Springs and finding that that hotel was not what we had hoped. We made the right choice in going to the Hyatt at Indian Wells. From the moment the staff at the Hyatt Indian Wells picked up the phone (we called the hotel directly vs. central reservations) until the bell desk loaded up our rental car and we drove away, the service was outstanding. Everyone we encountered was very friendly, very helpful and truly made us feel relaxed and at home.

Our room was very nice, very clean and very quiet. The bed, including the pillows, was comfortable. The pools are great. We were delighted to find that they had an adults only pool (a must at any resort, in my opinion). The staff were kind enough to give us a nice price on the rental of a cabana since we were there celebrating our anniversary. The service at the pool was excellent - the staff was very attentive and friendly.

As for food, we ate at the hotel restaurant one night. The food was very good. We ordered breakfast via room service and it was also very good food.

The hotel is located near El Paseo which has some great restaurants and good shopping. Definitely worth checking out. Of course, the area is a great location for golf as well as desert hiking. We particularly enjoyed our latest visit to Joshua Tree National Park.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We chose a room with a golf course view which was nice and quiet.

My wife and I just complete a week stay. Let me start by saying that the quality of the facility is outstanding as is the service. The grounds are impeccable and the staff fawns over its guests so it gets high points for that. Now here are the complaints, one major and the other two minor.

My major complaint is the temp of the adult pool water. It is FREEZING to the point that there is rarely anyone in it. My guess is that this is intentionally to avoid overcrowding in the water since the pool is small. But we came to be in the desert and relax in the pool not just next to it. Between my wife and I we did not spend 5 minutes combined in the water and we were not alone. Most people had the same complaint.

The other issues had to do with our room. We stayed in a one bedroom casita and the bathroom fan sounded like an old 1970 pickup truck. Also the shower head was awful, a $15 unit from Home Depot. I get being thrifty but in a $500/nt room? Come on guys, you can do better than that.

We stayed at the resort for four days the weekend after Labor Day weekend. It was my second stay at the Hyatt in Indian Wells. September is a good time to go because it's not crowded. In addition to the regular amenities we had access to the Regency Club and ended up never leaving the resort; we had everything we needed for a relaxing long weekend. We stayed at the Westin in Mission Hills last year (closer to downtown Palm Springs) and I like the Hyatt better overall.
Accommodations - Comfortable with balcony. Room was clean.

Spa - Had a great massage and enjoyed the calm and peaceful atmosphere. If you want just a day pass, I suggest asking for one at the hotel front desk.

Adults Only Pool - Mellow and other guests were friendly. On Saturday they had live music, it was pretty nice. We rented a cabana so my friend could watch football while I lounged in the sun. It worked out great. Was it worth the extra $$$? We didn't use it when football was not on. Service was always friendly and very good about accommodating our special requests. 3 out of 4 days, we had excellent service from the bar and one day our guy was slow.

Regency Club Room - Having access to the club room made the trip for us. Wide selection of breakfast options and happy hour snacks. The staff is very helpful, responsive and friendly. It's on the top floor so you have a great view of the mountains.

Location - There are plenty of restaurants and shopping very close to it. However it's about 25-30 minutes from downtown Palm Springs.

I would recommend the Hyatt in Indian Wells to all my friends.

Room Tip: I've had golf course view and the basic room view - as long as you're on a higher floor (4th...

Very nice resort esp the checkin people and also the valet workers. It was so pleasant sitting outside at night with friends on the patio. The spa is always nice and the staff very friendly.
I'm sure we will go back again.

Room Tip: Room over looking the pool was nice

On our way back from CA coast to Phx, we stayed @ the Hyatt Regency in Indian Wells. Rooms were beautiful with great view of golf course. Staff was wonderful, friendly, and attentive. Enjoyed a relaxing few days.

Room Tip: Rooms on 4th floor overlooking the golf course quiet and scenic.

We had a very pleasant stay here this past summer. The room was fine though uninspired in decor. The staff was nice. We didn't try any food at the hotel.

The pools were very nice though a bit cloudy and overly warm.

All in all a solid stay, nothing amazing.

We are a group of six couples who annually go to the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells around mid September. The hotel staff are delightfully friendly and accommodating. Our group where ever we travel gather in the Regency Club for breakfast and cocktail hour for food, fun and dis-respectful fellowship. Even though we are, as a group of twelve, the gorilla in the room the staff are very friendly, accommodating and make sure we are well taken care of.
The adult pool late morning and for lunch is our meeting place and nothing changes. We are again extremely comfortable and well taken care of and enjoy the music group that is very entertaining.
In summary, if you are fortunate, as we are, to have a group of friends with whom you can enjoy a three or four day holiday, you cannot find a better resort, rates and hotel services then the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells. We are, as I write this review, confirming our dates for the next four years.
The suites are outstanding, food is wonderful and everyone, and I mean everyone, when you walk by says hello. Enjoy!

Room Tip: 5th floor suites pool or golf course view in the wing where the Regency Club is located, just a pers...
