As locals, we frequent this place relatively often. The dishes, although somewhat pricey since the latest price hike (around 15% for many dishes!) are most often good and quality seems to be somewhat consistent for a chain restaurant.
What is not consistent is the service. On our last trip, I received the wrong dinner. Then we had to ask the waitress for everything, while she was busy carrying on conversations with the staff at the register. Sometimes you get soybeans to start out, sometimes not. This time, we had to ask for wasabi and ginger, which normally comes right with the soybeans. Later, when the Hibachi meal was served, we had to ask for dipping sauces, which on other occasions were served right with the meal. No water was brought to the table, I probably had to ask for that too. Our bill arrived at the table before my wife had finished eating, a total rudeness. I fear Kabuki's star is falling. Thumbs down right now.
