Stayed here Aug 2007. Apparently this is a former Holiday Inn built 30 years ago and NOT CLEANED OR UPDATED IN 30 YEARS! The first N/S room we were issued reeked badly of smoke, had stained, outdated wallpaper, ratty and worn bedcoverings, torn adn stained carpet of an unknown original color. "Phillip" at the front desk was polite and professional and issued us a second room on a different floor. Unfortunately that room was in the same worn, condition and smelled dirty rather than smoky. "Phillip" issued us a third room on fourth floor which was somewhat updated to a 1980s style but was similarly worn and smelled of mildew. Since we knew all other hotels in the area were booked, we accepted this room. Backing up to our arrival: Despite providing the staff with our Travelocity Trip ID#, the staff didn't have our reservation and put the burden on us to prove we had a reservation. The staff was professional and polite, but not what I would term 'helpful' The public areas are very badly in need of cleaning and maintenance, if not complete renovation. All public areas we saw had torn, worn carpeting, chipped paint on door moldings, etc. The fitness areas weight machine was broken, all free weights were missing except the 50 lb. weights (which were apparently too big for someone to steal); therefore making the fitness center not usable and of no value. After reviewing Travelocity's star rating system criteria this hotel fails in all areas we encountered.
