“Picturesque ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

My family recently stayed at the majestic and picturesque Grand Hyatt property.

From the first greeting by the valet attendant to our every movement we we taken care of.

Fist of all this property sits on the PCH directly across from The beach.

The views of this beach we exceptionally beautiful around the property. I was taken by the property we manicured grounds, lavish design and breathtaking landscaping.

We stayed in a Huntington-suite with a distant walkout balcony view of the beach. It was well maintained. Modern and clean.

As Diamond members we had access to the Club lounge. It was amazing and the new balcony view was amazing. Great food, friendly service by their staff and great coffee added to this great area. I was initially sceptic all about this area as most domestic Hyatt club area fail in comparison to the properties I've stayed in Asia. Needless to say the food was delicious. Well stocked and fresh. I was pleasantly surprised.

The only small complaint was the expensive valet fees. $34 a night is a bit pricy.

Overall our experience here was exceptional and we will be back in the future.

Everyone was so nice to us. I mean EVERYONE! Seriously amazing! The door men, valet, shuttle service, front desk, wait staff and even the guy that delivered dinner from the pizza place were all so helpful and friendly. We were going to take a shuttle to Dukes down the street but there was a wait due to a wedding party. So we opted to walk down the beach to Dukes. They felt bad and told us that if we call them they will pick us up for free. The guy picked us up and offered cold water on the very short ride back to the hotel. Great service!
The pool was wonderful. Ordered drinks and nachos (really good nachos by the way) by the pool. Very clean and I like that the grounds were so well maintained. Very large place. I would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Some rooms have the balcony that faced the walkways (it looked kind of cool, but we had a room with...

We stayed at this resort for a family getaway and it was awesome! Even though it was during peak summer time and also the same weekend as the US Surfing Competition, we never felt that it was overcrowded. The staff was excellent and the pools were very fun for my young kids. The restaurants were good as well. We did not utilize the beachside concierge, but will do so next time. Parking was a bit steep, but to be expected in such a prime area. We are already looking forward to our next trip here!

The final stop on our month in CA was 2 nights at the Hyatt Huntington and I'm glad we made such a wise choice.

We spent the last 3 days relaxing by the pool/s which were amazing & the kids loved the 3 waterslides & pool toys that were provided. Other activities the children enjoyed we're the fish feeding each day & hiring the resorts bikes to ride all along the front of Huntington Beach.

We also drove about 10 Kim's nth to a marina that had markets on the sat and enjoyed fresh lobster rolls for lunch which were so fresh.

Had enjoyable meals at both of the resorts restaurants & the fish special at the Californian was spot on. Mahi Mahi I think.

Reception staff members in particular were very polite & genuinely interested in having a conversation. Thanks for such a memorable stay.

I had a work conference that my husband and I chose to extend. We were so very glad that we did.

The hotel is so amazingly nice. All of the staff were friendly, the location can't be beat. You are just a short walk to the beach and to 'downtown' Huntington Beach. We walked into the town every day. We also chose to enjoy the pool area most days we were there as well.

The only real downside we had was the parking. There was no 'self park' and valet was $35 a day. This seemed extremely excessive to us. Overall though, we would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this property over new years and it was busy. The restaurants were good and we loved the location. There is a cross walk over the road right to the beach. You can take a quick walk downtown to encounter the huntington beach culture. The resort is very spread out so i recommend requesting a room closer to the lobby, unless you want to walk a was to your room. I want to return to the area just to stay and relax at this property.

My partner and I stayed at the Hyatt Huntington Beach with our two girls (aged 5 and 7) for five nights in late September. We were on holidays after his business trip and wanted somewhere as a compromise between Anaheim and Hawaii, and they Hyatt couldn't have been better.

The hotel is set on beautiful and large grounds across the road from the Pacific Ocean, with two (possibly three) swimming pools and water slides, large spa grottos, a koi pond where the kids can feed the fish, an amazing day spa, and a variety of restaurants. The attention to detail and decor of the hotel was incredible, with everything thought of, and attentive and accomodating staff. The hotel is located within walking distance to the main street and the pier, although it is a bit of a walk with little ones. There are a number of shops and restaurants on site so you don't need to leave the hotel if you don't want to.

The room (a twin room with two double beds) was large and comfortable, and well serviced. Our room was on the ground floor facing the spa grotto area, which was quite pretty with no noise from the highway. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice and spacious, with good quality amenities.

The resort rate included access to the spa area (which I regret not using more often, it was one of the best I've ever seen) and the pools. We only used the Slyders pool area, which the kids and I loved, but it was excellent and perfect for families. There are a range of activities for kids, and although we didn't use it, Camp Hyatt looked excellent.

We had breakfast at The Californian included in our rate, and the food, service and selection of meals was excellent. The servers were fantastic and the kids packs kept our children entertained and while the food and view kept the adults more than happy!

The only thing I was disappointed in was that the shuttle to Disneyland was not running as it was out of peak season (which wasn't indicated on the website when we looked and called to confirm), however it was only a 35 minute drive away and didn't require us to tackle the LA freeways. The concierge was excellent at helping us find our way there and went out of their way to make it up to us.

Overall, we loved the Hyatt Huntington Beach and would highly recommend it for families as well as couples, friends and business travellers. We've already decided we'll be back if we're in LA again as it was worth the travel to Anaheim required to stay there.
