“Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We stayed here for my birthday in May and had a fabulous experience. The staff was so so friendly and the resort was very clean. I am a germophobe and I thought they kept this place very tidy. There is a walkway that takes you directly to the beach and you can check out umbrellas and chairs (included in the resort charge) on your way down to the beach. They also let you use the spa facilities which was so nice and relaxing! It was honestly such a great experience. We are going back end of August!

Actually this was already our third stay at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort. For us as a family of four this has become our preferred location when staying in the Los Angeles area. The place offers all amenities we can wish for, e.g. direct access to the beach, great comfortable and cozy rooms, two pool areas (Slyders pool has three slides and is perfect for kids), different restaurants as well as a small on-site grocery and gift shop. The breakfast buffet at "The Californian" is very good and our waitress even served items that weren't available at the buffet at no extra charge – this is service. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher level and get an ocean view room - it's worth it.

This Resort has a beautiful layout, endless amenities and very attentive staff. It scores 5/5 in that dept.

However, it failed us on more than 1 occasion from Room experience. First, the view. We were roomed in a partial ocean view facing south which overlooks the beach and a smelter. I asked for a room move to a partial ocean view facing West/Spa Grotto. Better view but much louder from the highway and guests below. Nothing like motorcycles driving by and setting off car alarms constantly. Also, the rooms are tired and not necessarily inviting or have any wow factor. In fact, our feet and socks were stained black from walking on them in room 4534. Lastly, Wifi reception and cell was inconsistent throughout the day.

Second, Housekeeping. The staff replenish the water bottles in the fridge each day, nice touch. However, they did not close it properly 2 days in a row, spoiling our perishables including children's medication. This caused significant inconvenience and time wasted trying to replace it not to mention health concerns.

Third, room deliveries. Ordered bottle opener took 20 mins and room service took 1hr for kids meals, not acceptable. Ordered plastic bags/baby shampoo, didn't show and had to call again.

My wife and I went here for a quiet 5 day get away and had a blast. The hotel is clean, beds are nice, food options are good. Huntington downtown is a quick beach walk away and the beach is very accessable from the hotel. We would go back!

I booked a king room with an interior garden view for $207 with a Costco Rate. I thought I had booked two rooms which I needed. I didn't check my confirmation. So at the last minute i had to book another room and all they had was an ocean view King for $335.
Both the rooms were identical in size and the room with the garden view was very nice, the ocean view room was not worth the extra $135. Loved the property, took the Hyatt shuttle into town for shopping and restaurants and used the bridge to the beach. For three days never got in the car!!

We stayed at The Hyatt Regency on the last night of a twelve day California road trip. It was the BEST place (not the most expensive) we stayed on the entire trip. Shannon checked us in late in the evening with smiles and an upgrade to a fantastic room. My two kids ages 13 & 9 loved the room. The guy that helped with bags where super friendly and helpful. Valet met us at the with a smile. Great people! Pool was nice. Beach is across the street via the walk bridge from the hotel. Very nice beach. We wished we would have found this place a coupe days sooner. I highly recommend you stay here!

We visited the Huntington Beach Hyatt Regency for the Beach and pool. We loved the resort, and it was everything we wanted. The walkway to the beach was great, and they provided chairs and towels as you cross over to the beach. The pool areas are also very nice, with food and drink available at both pools. The resort is very large, and has many shops and restaurants on site. The staff was very friendly, and the room was nice and clean. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, and I would recommend this hotel to others.

Room Tip: Get a partial ocean view, or a full ocean view. It is worth it!
