I can't say enough how much I loved this hotel.
First and foremost, you just cannot ask for a better location. It is directly across the street from one of the best beaches in the country.
Inside the hotel, there is a great surfer chic vibe. There is art made from wetsuits, great surfing photography, and even surfing videos playing on one of the walls in the lobby.
The restaurant just off of the lobby, Zimzala, is a really great place to just chill. For every night that you decline room service, you get a gift card to use in the restaurant. This was a nice environmental touch. Daily in the lobby, there is a complimentary wine hour, which we took advantage of a couple times even though we aren't big wine drinkers. It was always nice to take a glass out to the fire pit courtyard area. Close to the end of our stay, there must have been a youth soccer tournament in the area or something because there were a lot of children running wild in the courtyard, which substantially hindered our enjoyment. Most of the time though, we felt really relaxed and laid back.
The shower in the room is large and AMAZING for getting rid of all that sand you can't help but bring back with you from the beach. Nothing in the hotel is overly fancy or stuffy, which we liked, as we are pretty casual people. That said, everything was clean and modern.
Another little bonus is that you can check out beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, etc. from the front desk in the morning (quickly before they are all checked out!) for free.
The only downside of the hotel for me was that there is no pool. However, a pool isn't strictly necessary when you are a two minute walk from the ocean.
We had a fantastic stay at the Shorebreak, and can't wait to return!
