This property is only 2 or 3 years old. There are no dings, dents, stains, peeling, or other signs of wear and tear that I could see.
It was originally built for a more upscale motel chain. That explains the over-size room, real oak furniture, granite counter top in the bathroom, and a good sized TV. Carpeting, bedspread and window covers are excellent.
An earlier review mentioned paper thin walls. I can understand. I could faintly hear the TV in the room next door but not enough to hear what was playing. I turned on the heater and never heard another sound. Once I heard a child down the hall. That’s the only sounds at night. We were there on a Thursday night. Weekends might be busier because of the Las Vegas crowd.
One reason I like this motel is it’s a half-mile from the freeway, so there’s no road noise. Plus, its positioned behind the Holiday Inn which might help block some sounds.
Remember, this is still a Motel 6. Bring your own shampoo, hair dryer and clock radio. They do offer wake-up call but it wasn’t Tom Bodett.
My only complaint was looking for a nice restaurant in Hesperia. There aren’t any. To me, nice means carpeting on the floor, waiter or waitress service, a glass of wine. Good luck finding one. We drove slowly up and down Main Street for miles and checked closely at every shopping center. All Hesperia offers is fast food and low-end Mexican and pizza joints. You would do better 5 miles north up the interstate closer to Victorville where there is a large selection.
The restaurant inside this Motel 6 is not open for business but it might be in the future.
