“Might be good for breakfast....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2013

Hamburger was terrible. Overcooked, dry meat, lettuce that could have from a tree and curly fries also dry.
Below average quality.

“Surprisingly Good Sidewalk Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2013 via mobile

Delicious food, great service, funky street location. Emma is the standout personality. My chorizo omelette was spectacular, my wife's havarti cheese omelette with grilled tomatoes delighted her. And we discovered the marmalade on rye toast, heard about the "Indian bread with peanut butter and marmalade". A "must" visit.

“Terrific brunch at the beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013 via mobile

Great little brunch stop just steps from the beach in Hermosa. Eggs benedict (in numerous variations) is the specialty here - but the fare overall is great. Been visiting here for past few decades, and it's still as good as ever - highly recommended. Pro-tip: Parking can be tight, but there is non-metered street parking available one block up the hill.

“AWESOME, beach-front restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

This place was awesome. Breakfast was fantastic, with pancakes and eggs and omelets and everything you could want for really reasonable prices. You can sit outside and stare at the beach, have a cup of coffee and enjoy the friendly, down to earth service. Try the chorizo scramble - delicious. Looks like it's only open for breakfast and lunch, but it's definitely worth a stop.

“The best way to start a beach day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

Martha's....ah Martha's. I'm lucky to be a regular and live close enough to ride my bike to this spot. From the food to the view to the service, it is one great way to start any South Bay beach day.

Be prepared to wait if the sun if out, but always know you can duck inside if you don't need the vitamin D. Local tip!

The food is always good and fresh. If it's lunchtime, I go for the southwestern chicken sandwich. The piece of chicken is huge so you could share...but why? It has a spicy corn mayo sauce that you must get extra of...it is so good. Comes with fries (curly fries) but you can sub out salad. Nice...

The big get is breakfast and with any great beach community, this is fantastic cuisine!!! The pancakes are stuff of legend and the omelets are so inventive and perfect to even the picky eater.
I like the corn and halvati cheese or the jack cheese and sausage omelet. Great home fries or fruit.

Another tip, get a coffee from the take out stand on the corner while you wait. And people watch.
