“Big, beautiful lake”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

Diamond Valley Lake is a surprise find just South of Hemet. It is avery large lake that allows only fishing and limited boating activities on it. But there is a hiking trail completely around it for hiking and biking. In the spring there is a wildflower trail. And be sure to take in the free museum at the bottom of the hill where you can learn all about the development of the lake.

“Fish on”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

Great lake for bass fishing. Wed has half off boat rentals. You can fish from shore if you like to take your life into peril. You need a boat at this lake. Good bass cats and stripers.

“Diamond Valley Lake”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Diamond Valley Lake is beautiful, large and interesting, however you cannot swim in it and it has other body contact, etc. limits as it is a reservoir. It is the item that put the small town of Hemet on the map, before the lake no one had heard of Hemet. The museum about what was found at the lake during construction and the history of the families that lived in the valley that became the lake is interesting, however perhaps more interesting for Hemet dwellers...not sure how out of towners find the information. I grew up in Hemet and so I found it exciting to learn of the animals that once roamed here.

“This reservoir is one of the largest in California. Beautiful views.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

Diamond Valley Lake in Hemer is a fisherman's paradise. It is huge and the view is beautiful from the mountain top. Located on the same property as the Valleywide recreation and Park district swim park as well as the museum

We stopped, and enjoyed the scenic view, and as Peggy W. stated, very appealing destination and I look forward to returning when I am able to enjoy the hiking, boating.

Very lovely.
