“Nice for the Price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We spent a couple of nights at the Dry Creek Inn during a Sonoma get away and found ourselves quite happy with the experience. We stayed in the Tuscany building. For the price we paid - $125/night - it was a very nice room indeed, with romantic amenities such as a whirlpool tub and gas fireplace. We did not use the patio that came with the room, but we did use the hot tub one night; it was a nice way to unwind at the end of the day before heading out to dinner.

Overall, the grounds are well kept and clean. Parking wasn't an issue, and neither was street noise.

The included breakfast is exactly what one would expect from a kitchen-less facility. If you are a foodie on any level, then you'll probably want to skip the breakfast. There are several great options in the area though, so this isn't really a downside. They could be less stingy with the coffee cup sizes, however! On the second morning they had shrunk to 6 ounces, necessitating multiple trips back for refills.

The staff was quite helpful and pleasant.

This location is about a mile from Healdsburg's quaint downtown area, so you are in for a short walk or cab ride (which cost approximately $8) should you decide to do some wine tasting there. We used both methods - the walk was pleasant.

We had originally wanted to stay in one of the hotels on the plaza downtown, but decided to "risk it" and stay here due to budgetary reasons. I am glad we did, because know we have a nice and reasonably priced place to stay when we return in the future.

Cheers!

- Rodney

Room Tip: The Tuscany rooms are good value for the price we paid. Lots of amenities for your $$$.

We enjoyed our stay at the Dry Creek Inn. It is within walking distance to downtown and close to many wineries. The staff is friendly. The breakfast has improved, although space is still an issue. We also enjoyed the wine tasting on the Thursday night. The winery was a small winery, which is what we like.

We decided to save the $ and stay in the older "vintage" rooms. The hotel has a nice location, but there was considerable street noise (in our room at least). The vintage rooms are clean enough but are a bit worn and the carpet had seen better days. The breakfast room was nice and had an OK breakfast. The work out facility was adequate and the pool area seemed nice (too cold while we were there to try it out). If you just need a place to crash for the night, you can't beat this price. But if I were to go back, I'd upgrade to a nicer room in the Tuscany bldg.

Room Tip: We had an upper corner room in "Vintage" bldg and it had a lot of street noise

Best Western outside the US tend to be really really good for value and location. However it is always a toss up state side. This location in ear Healdsburg is on the downside. Three examples... The heat/air compressor is on the balcony of the tuscani suites...not just noise but if you sit outside to enjoy wine and cheese you get a wind tunnel. Point two: down one of the public staircases the dryer blower blows hot air at you when using the staircase..unhealthily having fuzz in your face. Point three...any more than 3 le pole in the jacuzzi and it echoes in the courtyard even with the doors shut...sorry I don't pay 250 a night for this. Location is great but I will look for an alternative next time.

Room Tip: The Tuscan rooms are over priced; however to avoid road noise ask for something on the upper floors.

Dear Trip Advisor Reviewer,

Thank you for completing the survey regarding your recent stay at our property.

Your business is very important to us and we value your feedback. By telling us what you liked about your stay and how we can improve, you are helping us deliver a superior experience for you and other guests in the future.

The concerns mentioned in your review are design and construction related and we do our best to mitigate them.

I am sorry you felt our rooms were overpriced. On an event weekend in Healdsburg, our rooms are actually moderately priced compared to the other lodging facilities in town charging $350 or more. We do offer our Luxury Tuscan rooms at discounted rates during the mid week period.

It is my hope you will come back and see us again soon.

Once again, thank you again for taking the time to complete the review. We appreciate your loyalty to our hotel and Best Western.

Sincerely,

Aaron S. Krug

We stayed here for three nights during our anniversary trip. This was by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed in one of the Tuscan Deluxe rooms. We felt like celebrities. These suites had a jaccuzi tub, fireplace, private patio, very upscale. The private courtyard housed an outside fireplace conversation area, waterfalls, sauna room, steam room, private hot tub area, and did I mention breakfast? The room stay includes what they call a "continental breakfast", which was more like a breakfast buffet. The rooms were pristine. I can't say enough about this fabulous hotel.

The BW Dry creek turned out to be a gem, a very large gem, but a gem nevertheless.

Located off 101, it is easy to find, and very convenient to the center of Healdsburg (think food and wine).

This is a very nice resort, Convention Center hotel. ambiance was very nice. Staff was very accommodating.

Rooms were large and well appointed.

This was a good place to stay and the price was right.

Breakfast (included) was good, popular and service staff attending were kind.

Room Tip: Get there early as the rooms fill up quickly on a weekend.

Went for a quick get away and we really enjoyed our stay. Room and grounds were extremely clean and our room in the Tuscan deluxe king room was very nice. Service was good, continental breakfast fine. Only downside was odd layout of the business center, a 2 story building built right in center of the courtyard. It blocked our view somewhat and made the area seem a lot smaller. I can't vouch for the quality of the rooms in the older part of the hotel but I would recommend this hotel based on our experience.
