“Great value in an expensive town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

This was my second visit to the hotel, first since the renovation. My daughter and I stayed in the older side to enjoy separate beds. The room was clean and the property was beautiful. The new pool and hot tub plus the pretty fountains and landscaping have truly made the hotel unique. We paid $89 per night which I consider a huge bargain for the location. The pool was heated enough to make it pleasant but not hot, and it was salt water, not chlorine. There was a small restaurant next to the hotel and a fantastic market (Big John's) just across the street where you could find all sorts of wonderful cheeses, snacks, dinners, wine, etc. Instead of eating the chemically infused muffins, egg biscuits and pancake batter offered at breakfast, you can buy something at the market and pop it in the microwave in the breakfast room. After all, you are in the best area in the US for food! I highly recommend this hotel for those wanting to enjoy wine country without breaking the bank.
One negative was the noise- after all people park right outside the room and talk and rev motors, etc. The fan on the wall unit provided enough white noise to remedy that.

What a wonderful surprise awaited us when we booked a 2 night special at the Best Western Dry Creek Inn in Healdsburg, CA. The inn was designed to resemble a Tuscan Villa, and I must say, we were pleasantly delighted. The rooms were excellent, the staff were wonderful, and our special rate even included a buffet continental breakfast. This hotel has all the amenities a traveler could want, and its close proximity to local wineries was an added bonus. We would definitely stay again at this facility.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Tuscan wing each have individual patios that overlook a central courtyard with waterfal...

If you are looking for a good clean affordable room in Healdsburg - this hotel is it. The spacious rooms are very basic, but clean. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast that you'd expect.
The hotel is technically close enough to walk to the wonderful downtown plaza, but most people would probably drive. There's ample parking and a visit to this quaint downtown is a must do, even if you're just stopping through the town from the highway. Don't miss having a coffee at the Oakville Grocery (on the square) for some great people watching.

We stayed at the Dry Creek Inn in Healdsburg for a weekend in July. The staff was friendly and very informative. The room was large, very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to others.

This is a very nice hotel with everything but a nice mexican style restaurant. The layout is very different from anything else that I have stayed at before. Take a look at the pictures of it, makes you feel like you're 1,000 miles further south. I enjoyed the stay but it is located some distance from attractions and good eating spots. Take in some wine tasting for a day as you are in the heart of Sonoma Vally and about 3 dozen wineries!

We picked this hotel on very short notice using the internet. When we made our initial booking we were not certain if we would stay past a couple of nights thinking that we might end up finding a different place once we had determined the lay of the land. We ended up staying at the Best Western the entire 8-day duration of our cycling adventure in Healdsburg (which was fantastic by the way, but not the main point of this review). One consequence of the way we booked was that we were required to move between rooms because other folks had bookings that filled the portion of the hotel we were in for the busy weekend – we had started our stay on a Monday.

That initial room during the weekdays was the standard, two queen beds, adequate-but-not-super-exciting kind of room you would expect from a Best Western. It was nice enough, very reasonably priced and the hotel was well-located from our point of view. One reviewer did comment on how the hotel exterior is done in a faux Tuscan. Style. I liked it, though I would say the real Tuscany does it better but it was still kinda fun.

As it turned out, as other reviewers have pointed out, there are 2 different hotel buildings where guests stay. They are called the Tuscan and the Vintage buildings. Our initial nights were spent in the Vintage. When we were informed that we would not be able to stay on that side for the weekend nights of Friday and Saturday we looked at the more expensive rooms we had to move to and thought it might be alright. It turned out the Tuscan building is a much fancier affair. There was a Jacuzzi, a fireplace and a balcony onto an interior courtyard.

The thing I would point out is the room was double the money; we did not use the Jacuzzi or fireplace and rowdy revelers made way too much noise in the court yard. The bathroom is separated from the bedroom by louvered shutters so turning on the light in the bathroom lit the bedroom too. It really wasn’t worth the money to us and we gladly moved back to the Vintage side when we knew a room was available.

So the summary points are that the hotel does provide a good value for the money on the Vintage side. I would not choose to stay on the Tuscan side but would probably try another option available in the Healdsburg area.

Room Tip: Pick the Vintage side for a simple but affordable room.

We got the summer sizzler deal which is offered on weekdays, it broke down to $35.00 a night for the3 of us. Pillows are medium comfort, simple bathroom, simple layout. The Tuscan exterior is fancier than the rooms. The new addition is probably nicer but only offers King size beds. The breakfast was good the first morning including waffles, breakfast sandwiches and eggs but none of that was there the second morning, not even yogurt. Hit or miss I suppose. You can do a mile walk into town or drive to the square which has a very nice variety of restaurants. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask to be off of the road for a quiet sleep.
