“a great little place on the square in Healdsburg CA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

We really enjoyed our stay at the Healdsburg Inn. It is so convenient right on the square downtown and we walked to dinner and could drink all the wine we wanted. They have a very good hot breakfast and a wine happy hour. Our room was clean and very large with every amenity including a fireplace. Great deals here IF you ASK for them! Loved it.

Room Tip: We had a room in the back on the ground floor....was quiet and easy. The do have an elevator if you...

We enjoyed our room. Tastefully decorated and close to shops and retaurants. Staff was very friendly. Appetizers and wine were very good and relaxing. The brealfasts were excellent. Wish I could go on line for the egg cassaroles receipes to use at Easter.

We have stayed here twice, both times in January, when we need to come down from the Sierra Nevada mountains and warm up. We enjoy both the outdoors and wine, so this location gives us access to hiking and food and wines. There are tasting rooms right in the square, and superb restaurants. We like this hotel for its location- right on the square, and it's welcoming B&B style. They host a wine and cheese hour (and you can even supplement from the fantastic Oakville Grocery 50 yards away) where guests are likely to exchange stories of their days' adventures and tastings, restaurant reviews, sightseeing recommendations, etc. Comfortable beds, fireplaces, big tubs, nice breakfast.

Room Tip: Avoid room 2, it is the weird one.

Visited Healdsburg in December 2012. We were familiar with the Healdsburg Hotel but it was out of our price range. We found the Healdsburg Inn on Kayak for half the price. Could not have asked for more. It is located right on the square and is walking distance to everything. We were greated but an extremely friendly staff and our room was upgraded. The room was big, clean and even being on the second flloor near the stairs, elevator and the breakfast/wine hour area it was very quiet. The breakfast was great and the wine hour was enjoyable. We will definitely stay there again when we go back.

We stayed at the Healdsburg Inn - A Four Sisters Inn Jan 2012 during the winter wine road festival. This was are second visit to Healdsburg but are first stay at this upscale boutique hotel. We were there with 2 other couples that had stayed there for the past 10 years and had done with high recommendations. First impressions was what a great place, only to behold the truth of the management of not only the hotel but the entire chain of four sisters in. We figured out on the first night there that the TV did no work accept on 2 channels, We made a comment to management the next morning. Nothing was done. The Second day one of our friends room was not cleaned and the scoffed at them when they asked for clean towel that night. On leaving the hotel one asked about making reservation for return visit the following year but was told they could not do it. about 2 weeks after we returned home all 3 couples received an email from the president of four sisters telling us we we UN-invited to stay there as we had complained. the email was a page long and was like being sent to the principals office for doing something wrong. Would not recommend four sisters to anyone. We paid over 250 a night and to be un invited because we had made a complaint .... Who would want to stay there again.

Room Tip: stay at another hotel

Having stayed at three other Four Sisters Inns, we were expecting a lovely place -- and we were not disappointed. Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet despite being located smack in the middle of Healdsburg Square. After traipsing around town, it was relaxing to sip wine and enjoy the light snacks offered every afternoon in front of a lovely (although fake) fireplace. At night we enjoyed the whirlpool tub in our sleek marble bathroom. The friendly innkeepers offered good guidance on where to eat and what to see. As we had called for a reservation the night before, we were able to take advantage of a last-minute deal -- which I think all of the FS inns offer. Would have been out of our price range without it.

We returned yesterday from a 3-night trip to the Healdsburg/Russian River area of Sonoma County. We chose the Healdsburg Inn because of its proximity to the town center and because it offered many of the amenities we enjoy. Tripadvisor was very useful in helping us make our selection and the past reviews were mostly spot on. The Inn does have an B&B feel but offers many of the amenities of a larger hotel/resort.

First, the location is ideal. Being on the square is great if you enjoy walking to local restaurants, shops and tasting rooms. The restaurant options are numerous and offer a variety of dining and budget choices. Our favorites included Costeaux French Bakery for breakfast (amazing), Scopa Restaurant for dinner (fabulous) and Willi's Seafood for drinks/aps. The Inn offers a breakfast bar at 8 am each morning that was adequate but not as good as the food nearby. Nice to have coffee available anytime, regardless.

The rooms were nice. We had one of the rooms on the second floor that overlooked the square. Earlier reviews did comment on the street noise. We did not think it was a problem, other than normal traffic noise. So, if you are looking for a complete noise free slumber, you might want to get a room not in town. Staff at the Inn were very nice and helpful. If you plan to arrive late, note that they front desk shuts down around 8 pm. Parking is a small but manageable issue. With limited parking out front and a max of 3 hours during the day, it makes sense to use their reserved space in the back at $10 per night.

Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Healdsburg and the Inn definitely delivered what it promised.
