Owner description: Papapietro Perry Winery specializes in small lots of handcrafted, single-vineyard designate Pinot Noir and Zinfandel produced from the finest grapes the Russian River, Anderson and Dry Creek Valleys have to offer. In addition, we are now producing a limited amount of Chardonnay. When asked what style of wine we make, the response is always ‘great wines’. After we’ve all laughed, the real answer emerges. After almost 30 years of winemaking, we still firmly believe in a minimalist approach—allowing the wine to express itself and reflect the growing season through the nuances that appear from vintage to vintage. For this to happen and to produce those ‘great wines’, it is vital to pay attention to every detail; carefully attending to every step of the winemaking process, yet always with a light hand. We don’t over-extract or over-oak our wines. We give the wines the fermentation and aging environments that allow them to become exceptional—so we can smell and taste what the fruit has to offer us.

“Pinot Noir Lovers - Don't Miss This Winery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

Visited Papapietro Perry after a recommendation from another winery in Dry Creek that didn't have Pinot Noir. So thankful for the recommendation! As others stated it is located in a communal parking lot with several other wineries. So if you are looking for beautiful scenery this isn't it. If you are looking for fantastic Pinot Noir, a stop here is well worth it. Every Pinot tasted was first rate - some of the best I've ever had. If you are anywhere near Healdsburg and a Pinot Noir fan this is a must stop.

“Terrific wines and great hosts make a great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

Made our first visit to Papapietro Perry Winery for a tasting today. We were recommended to Papapietro Perry by the great people over at Ridge Lytton Springs.

I must say, we have never been to any winery where we liked EVERY wine we tasted until today. Our favorite wineries always have one or two wines that stand out from the rest. Our host, Shelly, was sincere, passionate and knowledgable about both their wines and wines in general. Fortunately we only tasted 7 wines and bought all 7 plus joined their wine club. Truly a winemaker we can grow to love!

It's amazing how the right host and the right winery attitude can make the experience so enjoyable. This is a winery that truly values it's customers. After disappointing tastings and cavalier attitudes towards customers at Rombauer, Nickel and Nickel and Far Niente, it's a joy to come over the hill to Sonoma County and enjoy the relaxed and friendly attitude and truly terrific wines.

Wonderful wines and super helpful hosts. Highly recommended.

“Great wines and a "classic" tasting room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014 via mobile

I had not heard of these wines, but the folks at Ferrari-Carano (great tasting experience) pointed me here after I mentioned my fondness for Williams-Selyem Pinot. Papapietro Perry is pretty much the other end of the spectrum in terms of tasting room experience compared to the large expansive wineries. It is nestled in a parking lot with several others, but reminds me of a typical small winery tasting room. The wines were really stunning, both the Pinots and a really excellent Chardonnay that reminded me more of Burgundy than California. I imagine it is really crowded most times of the year - but not on a cold, rainy winter day. Highly recommended!

“Don't be fooled!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

This not particularly impressive tasting room hides a very impressive lineup of Pino. Located in a parking lot with a bunch of other wineries you might be tempted to pass it by, don't! The Pino at Papapietro Perry was the best we found in Russian River.

“Outstanding wines, everytime”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We have been members of the wine club for about 5 years now. I have loved every pinot noir and zinfandel they have shipped. Consistently excellent quality wines. All of our friends marvel at the great flavors.
