“Felt like a Celebrity at this very special hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

This hotel is a small group of villas ( 6) that is nested down a very private street, one block off the square in Healdsburg. This hotel is also conveniently located near all the best restaurants and tasting rooms within the town. What makes the hotel feel special is a great staff who makes you feel pampered and well supported as a tourist. Staff members know the town well and provided very useful feedback on travel and food.

The physical space was also great. The hotel has the best pool in town and you feel like a movie star lounging in and around this beautiful priviate space. Additionally, the hotel has a great hot tub, which is a major asset for any hotel.

The room was also outstanding in that is was clean, very modern and minimalist in feel. The air conditioner worked excellent for the duration of the trip and cooled the room perfectly, which was needed during certain times of the hot day.The shower was also outstanding, in that it was walk in, which made you feel like you were in a spa-it even had side show jets, which felt great after a long day in town.

You cannot go wrong with this hotel. Wish the price was cheaper, but I would go back because of they run a first rate establishment.

Pros:
Pool and hot tub
Upgraded room
privacy

Cons:
Price

Room Tip: There are three villas by the pool, and three away from the pool near the creek- you should decide w...

We spent a long weekend at the Duchamp in mid-July. It is a great spot to rest your head after a long day of wine tasting in the Russian River Valley. The hotel is simple and the concept is very inviting; a private compound with a handful of small individual cottages right in the heart of downtown Healdsburg…all surrounding a very comfortable pool and hot tub. The location is A+, and the cottages are adequate. My only negatives are that the cottages are cooled by window A/C units which are noisier at night and can't cool as well as central. Plus, during the day our housekeeper came in and cranked our A/C up to 80 degrees. I understand trying to save energy, but 80 degrees is a bit excessive during the heart of summer. Also, the front desk is unattended from 12-3 and I think after 7 or so.

The cottages have a great modern decor, and the shower is spacious and comfortable with body sprays, a hand shower and a shower head (but no tub). My girlfriend also really enjoyed the Aveda shampoos and lotions in each room.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you do not require full service amenities, or 24 hour service.

My wife and I stayed at Duchamp for our recent 5-day trip to the Healdsburg area. The hotel is conveniently situated just a few yards off the central square and is close to highway 101 but, despite this, is incredibly quiet and peaceful. We stayed in cottage #1, facing the pool and hot tub. Amenities in the cottage were excellent, as other reviewers have noted; the continental-style breakfast was great (pastries were lovely though, as a protein freak, a bigger/more varied selection including cheeses/cold cuts would have been nice) and the staff, particularly Sid, were unobtrusive but friendly and helpful. One minor gripe - weather was warm and we needed the (rather rattly) A/C on most nights - a touch of technical TLC would not go amiss!

Overall, we loved both the hotel, the town and the surrounding area and will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: There aren't any bad ones!

Took a weekend trip up to Healdsburg with a group of friends and stayed here at the Duchamp Hotel. What a great experience! Only 6 bungalows makes this a quaint and cool place to stay. Walking distance to town where you can hit the shops, tasting rooms, restaurants, and bars. Each villa comes equipped with all of the amenities you need. Very sleek, modern, and stylish. Breakfast was great and served every morning till 10am, which makes it great to sleep in and then eat. Great experience and would definitely return!

Only six beautiful, private, and thoughtfully appointed cottages, steps from downtown and yet as quiet and restful as if the hotel were miles away. Huge bathroom, piles of white towels, wonderful bed, lovely amenities, heated pool/ spa, nice breakfast selection eaten on the leafy patio. Aaah. This was our first stay at Duchamp, but it will not be our last!

Just 2 blocks from the Healdsburg Plaza (and a block from Cyrus), this modern set of six completely detached "cottages" set among a pool, hot tub and mature trees makes a fun break from the lace-filled four-poster B&Bs so prevalent these days. It's really a small hotel, with a front desk open until 7 and an "enhanced" breakfast buffet from 8-10 each day. They feature Downtown Creamery scones and buns (from an ex-Chex Panisse chef) and Flying Goat coffee (great local beans) and Strauss Creamery yogurt with granola. fruit, berries, cheeses, jams, and some tasty hard-boiled local eggs served in the lobby. The rooms have WiFi, LCD TVs, cordless phones, iHome iPod docks and thermostat controlled fireplaces, with lots of hanging, cubby and drawer storage. There's a small private patio in front of each unit with seating, and more chaises and strange seating devices scattered around the pool. Large bathrooms have dual stainless sinks, a multi-head shower setup (sides and flexible and standard), and cotton robes and slippers. Room for a party in the shower... and comfy sofa with leopard-print spread, big concrete/steel benches at the foot of the bed and some Asian metal tables/drums by the sofa. Three rooms face onto the pool/tub area (open until 10PM with fluffy towels at tubside, about 103 degrees, lightly chlorinated), the others are perpendicular from the pool, looking at trees and the creek that runs through the property instead. It feels very rural for being two blocks off the plaza. Interesting art pops up in unexpected places, and the staff is happy to arrange a free tasting and tour of the Duchamp winery and Slaughterhouse Space contemporary art space a few miles away. They also have free tasting coupons for many local wineries, and maps to help you along. Sirius/XM radio is in the lobby, and they're open to trying channels to suit your mood. We went for jazz standards. Great location to walk around downtown's impressive shops, restaurants and winery tasting rooms. Nice staff but unobtrusive, they mostly stay at the front desk. Everything was spotless, the duvet was warm, king bed with nice linens, medium loft comfy pillows x4 and two more little black ones that say "DaDa" (tip of the surrealist hat) and "MaMa" if you want to claim your side. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: One, Two and Three face north, looking at the pool; Four, Five and Six face east with large trees an...

We have stayed at the Duchamp several times, and it is still excellent. Full staff turnover since the last time we were there, for whatever reason, but the new ones are all great too. Duchamp is consistently clean, modern, good breakfast, quiet, and has great beds and showers. We recommend it everyone we know is going to Healdsburg and they all love it.

Room Tip: 1,2,3 by pool. 4,5,6 are by the woods. All are great.
