“A weekend in Healdsburg”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

A very well located hotel with friendly staff (very helpful front desk receptionist who made lunch reservations for us ) and good service at the great breakfast buffet. Our rooms were comfortable and clean . We had 2 grandchildren with us and the housekeeping staff added an extra foldaway cot with little fuss. We will stay there again on our next visit.

THis is a very nice location in the heart of Healdsburg that is really nice from a lobby atmosphere and restaurnat standpoint. We really liked the grounds and the pool and the ability to walk to all the local restaurants and is also really close to some great wineries. The hotel is not inexpensive and i woudl have expected more from a room standpoint. As other reviewers have mentioned the rooms are really dark, the bathroom is nice and the mini fridge is stocked with water and snacks as part of the room so that is a nice touch. We stayed on the second floor and in a two queen room. One of the beds was so creaky and hard to imagine that they wouldnt replace it? Big miss. For anyone staying at the hotel stay on the 3rd floor (of 3) so that you dont hear the people above you walking around, our neighbors above were heavy walkers and seemed to walk around all night. In summary good hotel, not great.

Room Tip: stay on top floor if at all possible

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The location is perfect! The lobby is so cute. The staff was very friendly. The room was way too hot at night - we set the thermostat to the coolest setting and the room never got cold or cool. The bathroom was too minimalist for my taste. There was no door on the shower, so water was all over the bathroom floor. The lighting in the bathroom was horrible!! I loved the location, but due to the very hot room and poor lighting, I probably would not stay here again unless that changed.

Room Tip: Ask about the air conditioning.

This hotel is minimalist. The location in central Healdsburg is perfect. It is just off the main square and therefore, was quiet. One can walk anywhere. The front desk staff was terrific in helping me figure out the TV. It is comfortable in all ways unless one likes a fussy place. Breakfast was included and excellent.

Room Tip: I would pick second floor away from the main street.

Great looking hotel located right in the middle of town. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean. Our room was located in the rear and very quite. Room was small although it had a nice large modern bathroom with a large walk-in shower. The shower was nice but had no shower door thus water kind of went everywhere while showering. At least they give you plenty of towels so it really wasn't a big problem.

Only big negative was the AC thermostat control. Instead of showing temp in fahrenheit degrees like every other thermostat in the US it had numbers from like 13 to 28. (Is that supposed to represent celsius?) We could never get the room to cool down despite trying different settings. Staff seemed confused also because we inquired at the front desk on two different occasions and got two different answers. The whole hotel really heats up during summer days. Luckily nights were cool and we were able to open a window to keep the room from being to stuffy. For the price though I expect to be cool and comfortable. Included breakfast was decent although exactly the same both mornings we ate there. Great coffee. I would stay there again during cooler seasons just because of the great location. Not sure if I would spend another summer night there.

Healdsburg is a charming little town with surprising high standards for food, wine and hotels. Hotel Healdsburg raises that bar really high, since it is modern and tasteful, great location, has gorgeous spaces, rooms are well sized, quiet, well lighted, linens are exquisite, bathrooms are huge, spa-like and delicious, and the staff is really attentive and nice. We spent two nights, expensive, yes, but it delivered. Did not go to the spa, but sipped bubbly poolside on my b-day and it was awesome. Breakfast is really good, and again service was outstanding.
A fantastic place to be happy!

Room Tip: Ask for a second floor room with garden view (and tiny balcony). They are super quiet.

Hotel Healdsburg is very expensive but I think they can keep their prices high because of the lack of luxury standard hotels (note not B&Bs) in Healdsburg. Their rooms are generally on the smaller side though you could end up with an Accessible Room which was a bit larger. Rooms facing Healdsburg Ave can be very loud in the morning. Location can't be beat. Walkable to everything. Service is average - I don't feel they ever go above and beyond in anything - I asked for late check out for a Monday (not Sunday) and as the bride with several wedding guests staying there, they would only offer me a 12:30PM. I didn't want to press but my guess that this was their standard answer for anyone who asked. The free breakfast is delicious but they do still expect tip for their wait staff. Overall I would only recommend it if you can't deal with B&Bs and/or do not want to go with a 3/4 star place down the road.
