Description: Spoonbar Chef Louis Maldonado serves a menu of clean and simple dishes honoring America’s diverse culinary influences. His artfully-crafted, market-driven cuisine of fresh, bold flavors is built around seasonally-inspired local and sustainable ingredients. The same focus carries over to Spoonbar’s cocktails which use specially sourced organically-grown herbs, fruits and vegetables with an emphasis on locally and domestically produced spirits. Freeform tables made from reclaimed acacia surround a long, communal table crafted from a split tree. Splashes of color—from the turquoise Eames chairs to the golden floral three dimensional wall art—brighten the open space like dappled sunshine filtering through summer leaves. On warm days and evenings the restaurant’s Cantina doors open up to sidewalk dining.

“Lovely cocktails.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

I did not eat here, but drank a couple of cocktails. They were delicious. The ambience is trendy without being stuffy. One of my cocktails was the one with the raspberry foam and it was great. The bartenders are efficient and polite. The only thing that slightly ruined my experience was the drunk English chap sitting at the bar who was being very obnoxious to us and and everyone else.He should have been kicked out.

“Liked, not loved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We visited on Sunday night when they have a roast beef prix fixe meal, with potatoes, broccolini, and Yorkshire pudding served family style, begun with a simple salad, and topped off with a salted caramel ice cream that would blow your mind. It was all good, but it wasn't the best meal we've had in Healdsburg. The atmosphere was pretty cool, and the service was very good. I thought the sommelier was knowledgeable, although he didn't help us choose the wine. I liked it.

“Walked in to a great restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

I accidentally walked into Spoonbar (after my fist choice turned out to have an "invitation only" event going on.)

What great fortune. I was met by Joe, the wine Manager at the door and escorted to a wonderful table. Joe carefully explained the menu and wine selections.

While the menu is not extensive, each item was a temptation. I ultimately choose the slow cooked Chuck Roast, and it was outstanding.

Joe also made several wine selections, and my final choice was the Maisonry Napa 2008 Stagecoach Vineyards Nebbiolo /Cabernet blend.

They have a policy at Spoonbar that if you commit to purchasing at least 2 glasses, they will open any bottle on the Wine List. That was cool! and exactly what I did. At the end of the meal, the waiter came around and indicated I had some of my "second glass" left in the bottle, did I want it? Never had that happen before!

Great restaurant, great service, great food!!! All in a very spacious, attractive and well laid out atmosphere.

“Wedding Brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

We co-hosted the wedding brunch which was held here on Sunday morning. It is part of the Healdsburg Hotel's operation. They did a nice job of handling 140 hungry guests in a buffet setting. The food was generally good except for the applewood bacon which was both undercooked and quite greasy. The frittata was actually excellent and the French toast was large and, so the guests said, very tasty. The melange of accompanying sweets and breads was attractively presented as well,

“Poor service with style”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Bar experience was poor. Bartender had no customer service skills. When I asked about a bottle ON the top shelf, I was told it was a cheap liqor and not "top shelf", ok ...also I get worried when drinks are measured with a pour measure, kind of feels cheap .. also no mixers so dont ask for old school blended drinks.
